Me too, especially after the experience I had with a low dose.

I’m going to start things I can control to help

-make sure blood levels are good
-get more sleep
-excercise more
-eat a healthier diet aka cut down processed garbage
-more omega 3

I’ve read that those things are critical and could really help as a more natural option.

Addict/Alcoholic/Mental mess guy checking in. I got put on Strattera for ADHD and placebo or not there are times I can't believe I am remembering stuff. When I worked at blockbuster people seriously thought I was reeruned and worked on some sort of special program to employ special kids because I couldn't remember or do shit. When I got prescribed some meds for depression and ADHD medicine and makes me want to kick the shit out of teachers or people for calling me stupid or lazy when if I had those meds I could have done way better in school.

Remember reading an article a few years back about linking heavy amounts of Adderall usage in the military with the high veteran suicide rate. Theory being that it sort of "burns in" more intense memories and feelings during a period where people are undergoing high levels of stress, causing more severe PTSD and/or depression.

Its the energy/motivation part I'm interested in. I have been a workaholic all my life. Since turning 50 I have really started slacking. Mid afternoon I could fall asleep standing up. I have started procrastinating and working shorter days. I would love to get back to my old self. I know a few guys that tried it and they sure seem to like it.

Have you gained weight too? Maybe you need a sleep study to see if you could benefit from a cpap.

What kind of experience did you have?

So we gave it a shot. It has been great. In my experience the instant release version works better than the extended release. I am currently on the extended, but will mention to my doctor about getting back on the IR.

What things have you done to try to help your depression over the years?

I suppose you don't smoke, drink alcohol, use caffeine?

Of course you think the stuff's great man, you're high on speed! Generic version reads "amphetamine salts."

FWIW, Strattera has a different mechanism of action. It prevents reuptake of norepinephrine, which raises circulating levels in your body.

My daughter is hooked on it. Avoid this crap.

No Nicotine.

I've drank probably 6 beers in the last year.

Drink the shit out of coffee.

I get you, but if you're going to assert that caffeine = adderall, I don't really know that we can have a reasonable discussion.

You asserted that changing your brain chemistry terrifies you. I am not at all saying that the drugs are equal

Pretty sure it's just meth, but made in a lab instead of somebody's trailer.

If any of you taking it and find that your hands, feet, and dick are cold, consider taking a natural vasodilator. I'm not saying take viagra, but something that will mildly help with blood circulation. I've found it helps keep me from getting tension headaches as much as well. I've used Arginine for this. It would never have occurred to me to do this, but my friend in med school does this to keep from having the icy grip of death.

Also, raised libido with constricted blood flow makes things frustrating at times.
