As for matchups/improvements...

The Ravens’ secondary has improved, for sure, from what faced KC.

But Hill is healthy and available and changes a bunch of what a D can do in its secondary. And Hardiman is also Improved - experience - so that’s a big ++ for KC, IMO.

And the Chiefs OL is healthy and better. Eric Fisher makes a huge difference for them, even though he’s merely a slightly better than average LT.

The Ravens’ offense has improved. They’re more versed in their scheme and playing with confidence.

They also may have a limited Mark Ingram. That calf injury is one that may linger.

The Chiefs’ D has improved by leaps and bounds, especially in its DL play and in LB run defense.

The Ravens run 3 WR less than any other team in the NFL. That means KC can live in a 3-Lb set with Ragland on the field if necessary to help the run game. Pennel and Saunders will also be factors and weren’t the first game.

I think KC gains more from being healthy and gains more from in-season improvement than Baltimore (which needed two very fluky won jump balls to even make the first matchup close).

Good points.

I truly believe a healthy Chiefs team is stronger than Baltimore. And a problematic matchup in several ways.

My worry is having to beat a team that's thirsty for revenge on the road.

Revenge for what? Losing in the regular season in a game that didn’t end up mattering? If they need that for motivation they’re already beaten.

Chiefs are the only team that Lamar hasn’t beaten (that he’s played). They thought they should’ve won the game last year, and losing again this year just added fuel.

You can see the headlines now. The Chiefs are the ONLY team that Lamar has faced in his career that he has never beaten. MVP 2019 vs MVP 2018. Add in this new Suggs wrinkle too.
I don't know man. The Chiefs scare the hell out of me, but it would be really sweet for that to be the win that puts us over the top.

He [Reid] has struggled to get over the hump in the playoffs but he also has notoriously owned Harbaugh in the mentor vs. mentee match up.

I would say without a doubt KC is the #1 problem the Ravens could face. Even though we are re-tooled defensively since we first played them, the Chiefs have changed too. I really don't like this matchup for us to be honest. I hope to God I am wrong.

But... very few #3-6 teams make it to the superbowl, let alone win it.

If we are #3... the Chiefs odds of winning it all go down significantly.

I'm not afraid of their quarterback Tim Tebow. We can go on the road and beat them.

We have a real quarterback that can hit our guys between the numbers.

Wallcrawler 12-27-2019 06:14 PM

Mahomes went for 374 and 3 TD without Tyreek Hill. He's gonna light their asses up again if they have to now commit 2 guys to Hill alone.

How about we piss pound Phyllis and the Chargers and then look forward?

I’ve had a good experience at Chiefs Planet, they are mostly intelligent fans who are able to look at things objectively. Same with the Bills fans.

My first ever Ravens game was the playoff game vs Denver on New Year's Eve 2000. I saw a late 30s guy with his 10-12 year old son, both in Broncos jerseys, being urinated on by numerous Baltimore fans while in line to use the urinals. Unfortunately, that is the image that a lot of people have of the city of Baltimore and, by association, it's fan.

And he just stood there and let himself be pissed on? I'd sure as **** make sure they experienced near-death trauma.

Like IowaHawkeyeChief said we also freaking owned the trenches in that game, so the only thing I’m really worried about is the refs. I actually expect us to get a lot of calls this post season though so I don’t know that too expect going in there.

Well, the odds go down significantly if you're not a 1 seed, the NFL is just that top heavy..... there's not a huge difference between being a 2 seed or 3+.

If we can beat the Ravens the same way the Royals beat the Orioles to go to the championship, all the Baltimore sports fans will probably go nuts. Orioles fans never got over that.

That said, even though the Ravens are probably the most talented competitor, there's no way anyone should be more afraid of them than playing in New England and Belichick off a bye. I don't care how depleted they may be. That's going to be a slugfest where you're probably going to have to play a mistake-free game. It's the same thing every year... the Patriots are done, then they turn it on at the end. If we make it that far we're going to get their best shot.

We r gonna kick da Ravens in da Peenus lol
