Good god Roy, I stated as much in the last sentence of the post you quoted:

With roster size increased from 53 to 55 and the Practice Squad increasing from 10 to 12, it's a good idea to have at least one, if not two extra QB's available and learning the system, especially after cutting Schurmer.

Tyler Bray is still drawing an NFL paycheck.

That's unbelievable.

I suspect he's out of runway at this point, though. I believe he's exhausted his practice squad eligibility so I can't imagine him actually sticking with an organization anymore.

But still - guy has been cashing paychecks from NFL teams for 7 years now and has been on a gameday roster twice in that whole period. He's taken a TOTAL of 4 NFL snaps.

The allure of potential, man...

Reminds me of his rookie year quote.

"Why did you choose to sign with the Chiefs?"

Bray: "Andy Reid gets QB's paid".

I didn't realize that took effect immediately. I thought that happened when they added the regular season game to the schedule. So we actually get a 55 man roster this year?

Yes, roster sizes increase from 53 to 55 this season while the Practice Squad increases from 10 to 12 players.

In 2020, the NFL expanded the playoffs from 6 teams to 7.

Only the Top Seed (#1) receives a Bye week, the rest have to play their way to the Super Bowl.

The 17 game season doesn't begin until 2021 at the earliest.

Practice Squad eligibility has changed with new CBA: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/n...alary-changes/

Practice squads expanded from 10 to 12 players in 2020-2021, then to 14 players starting in 2022 (including between two and four players with unlimited accrued seasons per team)

All this means is Gehrig Dieter is going to be a PS member till he's 35.

Tyler Bray has never known a single season of his entire NFL career in which Matt Nagy was not on the coaching staff.

I don't know if it's blackmail or a secret gay relationship. But it's clearly one of those two. That's the only logical explanation.

Nothing not to like about this signing, this guy has credible career backup written all over him

10th rated QB this year according to my draft guide...

“Twitchy, athletic and creative, Patterson proved capable of making plays in and out of structure at the collegiate level. He has a bigger arm than you’d expect, with enough zip to test tight windows and the ability to connect over the top of a defense. Has a quick release and does a nice job of staying ready to throw when moving within the pocket. He’s enough of a running threat to make plays when he escapes the pocket and in the zone read game”

Sounds like perfect competition for Ta’amu if you ask me

It’s OUR turn to send Cassels throughout the league. Let the Chiefsification begin!

That is so Leafesque. I remember when Leaf said something to the effect of going to Las Vegas if he were the No.1 pick in the draft.;)
