The 80's means you got there when Chris Elliott and Larry "Bud" Melman were doing their best bits. After he moved to CBS opposite Leno he was little different but still good. He had Hello Deli next door, the two Indian guys with the gift shop, sending in the rabbits to the Subway Sandwich, he had many bits that I never missed it, and the live bands were usually something different but good. Since he went off, I haven't watched any late night talk shows, don't even care for Conan anymore. I use watch him when he replaced Letterman. Those days are gone.
What's funny now is, when you see an old one from NBC and Leno was a guest. Hard to believe they were friends, and Leno was actually funny then.

Oh yeah, I recall Larry "Bud" Melman interviewing people in the airport and offering them hot towels. LMAO
And Chris Elliott as "the Panicky Guy" as well.
And throwing things off of a 5 story building. And crushing things with a hydraulic press. And lord knows what I'm forgetting. All classic stuff.
