Thanks George, I needed that.
On the whole, it didn't look like Chiefs football. But the result was definitely Chiefs football. I said it in the game thread, but it's just so awesome to have a complete team, one where the D can pick up and even carry the O. I mean, we gave up a shitload of rushing yards, but only 10 points, and the D stole back another 7. So total they gave up was 3. Of course, the Pats royally ****ed up at the end of the half, and the other red zone trip that wound up with a nothingburger too, but a lot of that IS the defense. So very nice to see. Pat looked as bad as I've seen him and still found a way to kick ass. That throw to Kelce for like 47 yards was a thing of beauty. I dunno, maybe Pat was feeling the need to push stuff. He definitely could have been picked off a couple of times and should have lost that fumble. But, Pat just finds ways when it counts. In the recent past before him, we lose this game easily. Thanks again brutha! 4-0 baby!! |

On a side note Butker has struggled with extra points far more than he should have for more than just this season. I'm at the point I have more confidence in him kicking a 40 yard field goal than an extra point. |
Woohoo!!

Another dandy write-up, George. Sorry you couldn't find a food special someplace, but chili is always a good thing.
I don't know what's wrong with Buttkicker. That's 3 XP and a FG he's missed lately. Maybe I'm just a little spoiled because he's been so money, but I can't help but wonder if a small part of his misses are with the hold. Maybe he was trying to compensate for the wind last night, but it didn't appear to be that strong. The XP after his 1st miss was a little shaky, too. I was good to see Thornhill make some good plays last night, too. I don't close my eyes on a deep pass quite as much as I used to. |
#8... At first viewing, it did look like a fumble. However, Patrick was clearly in the grasp and control. Very similar to the call in the SB when Grapes was in the grasp...
As far as it being a terrible call... Marcus Mariota says hi... |
The Pats overloaded the left side of the line during Butker's missed EP last night. I think he saw it and freaked out.

great review as always :thumb:
Love #8 I was thinking the same thing - payback is a bitch! I was livid for the Raiders during that "tuck" rule BS called in the game. |

Great stuff as always!
One thing I noticed... they have REALLY established the tendency of ALWAYS running when Deon Yelder comes in the game, especially on 2nd and long. Kind of have to feel like they have a deep shot pass play sitting in the drawer for their next big game (Bills?) off of that tendency. Possibly with max protect and overloading one side of the field with Hardman and Hill. Great job by the Patriots defense. The Chiefs came out moving the ball early, and New England was able to weather the early storm. Holding KC to 2 FG early and also stripping Watkins (which was just a great individual play) changed the flow of the game. Let's say the Chiefs comes away with 13 points on those 3 drives... really changes the flow of the game and overall feel. Same with the deep shot to Hill - which Mahomes missed by about a yard... and the Keizer deflection of the scramble pass to Kelce, which - if caught - might have gone the distance and certainly would have put KC in scoring range. Patriots have some plays that way, too (the fumble that wasn't, for example). |
How do you make chili in 15 minutes?
