I'm pretty sure Veach visited with Andy before today (and maybe Mahomes) and got his thoughts. There's a plan and we just aren't privy to it. The plan may be a 1 year rental from a vet wanting a ring,

I doubt the plan is a 1-year rental when they cut both starting tackles.

They've got a plan that includes a permanent replacement for Fisher with either a FA or a trade.

Yeah for a few games till your starters get healthy. Fulltime is a clown show.

Ballsy moves. I like that they're moving on now; you don't want to wait too long to move on from players (especially older injured players).

Yes but Fish was still young but that achilles was devastating and wrong leg for a LT. Just too big a risk not to move on.

Mitch was an easier move bad backs are a bitch for O lineman. We never hear much about John Alt a great tackle who played with a bad back most of his Chiefs career. I am willing to bet life is not easy for him now.

Justin Houston there are folks here who still want him back when he was as polarizing as Berry in his final years here.

With Mahomes' contract starting to take it's effect on the cap, wouldn't burning down the questionable OLine and rebuilding it with talented rookies on cheap contracts make the most sense for success? Plus a potential splash deal on a proven veteran to help mold those rookies for the future?

It just seems logical.

I think its partially this, an effort to get cheaper, but i think its even more a **** good enough attitude, press on towards greatness. This line was only even respectable because Fish and Mitch gave us pro bowl caliber play year in and year out, now the corner stones have cracked there is absoulutely no reason to hang on to this. If we had any QB not named Mahomes, Wilson, or Watson the last two years, were probably not a deep playoff run team. For all the people penciling in LDT, im not convinced he will be in play. He wasnt great last year then took a year away from the game.

I guess I should have made myself a little more clear. I believe we already have a replacement for one of them in Niang. Durant may be in the mix, but my guess the plan is to draft a permanent replacement and use a rental this season.

It might be that. Or it might also mean we will gladly take 5 mediums instead of 2 excellents.

Given the fact that we now have an offensive line comprised of ghosts, phantasms, invalids, and hopes, I cannot in good conscience award any Veachy Power Points so far this off-season.

However, Veach has a solid bonanza of 100 Power Points awaiting him the day he cuts Eric Bieniemy.

You think they're just going to leave it the way it is?

Free agency doesn't start until next Wednesday. All we're seeing now is the cuts.

Just be patient.

We can do both.

Unprecedented year in FA and, per the draft gurus, OL class is solid.
