3.50 gigahertz Intel Core i7-4770K
Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Z97-A Rev 1 motherboard
16K RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

Still runs great and I haven't had any issues with it. Which is good, because I understand PC components are currently in short supply and ungodly expensive.

Have you given any consideration to overclocking the processor? The CPU we are both using is already the bottleneck for the video card I'm using... and yours has more umph than mine.

I've been able to get to 4.4GHz with complete stability but the fan is SO ****ING LOUD.

I recently had the opportunity to build a new rig (ie, I got hands on a 3070 but let my brother have it) but I decided to hold off. Even if I build a new system based on the 11th gen i9 11900k (I wouldn't... I would build an i5 11600k if I was going to build a modern rig today), I would "only" be getting a performance increase of 41% in a span of 8 years. I was coming from a Core 2 Duo E8400 when I upgraded to the 4770k and that was a 72% performance increase in a span of 5 years.

It just doesn't seem worth it to me to upgrade yet. Perhaps the 12th gen Intel processor is gonna give me that performance bump of 70% I'm looking for. As it stands... my rig can still play any game I throw at it. Even at 3440x1440.

I'd have to consult with my brain on that one. :)

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro

There is a brand new one on my desk at the office, but I just can't make the switch yet for some reason.

Old ones. Both our desktop and laptop are Dells with I-3 and 6 Gb of RAM. I upgraded the laptop to Windows 10 last year because none of the new tax software won't run on Windows 7. I use the desktop for most of my heavy duty writing because the laptop keyboard is too small. I'm too cheap to buy new ones until one crashes. We had Dell laptops with docking stations since the mid-90s because managers were on 24 hour call and I just got used to them. I have to use a stylus if I have to use my cell for anything besides dialing.

i have a used 17" Dell laptop I bought for $250 about 3 years ago after I accidentally spilled a whole 16 oz coffee on my HP and listened to it sizzle and die.
Im very happy with it as the former owner put a 500 Gig Samsung SSD in it, the same drive I upgraded my HP to before it met its untimely death.
I now have an external 500 SSD drive for my backup.
I'm not a gamer so I do not need an ultra fast processer like an NVIDIA set.

I don't have that anymore so I just bought me a "budget" gaming laptop, not that I game much but it's powerful with a 17 inch 144hz screen. Lots of stuff drawing on the batter so battery life sucks balls but I'm plugged in mostly. I can turn all kinds of stuff off and stuff to get 5 hours. Key backlighting is red and red only which isn't ideal. I pushed GTAV full everything and it handled it like a champ. As well as Cities: Skylines. I'll probably end up purchasing Cyberpunk now. Hope it's been fixed up. Been having an issue with Office 2007 configuring itself every time I open it though it's a legit registered copy.

My HP work laptop at Amazon is a 5 time hand me down that sucks. Probably at least 5 years old. So much security software and other shit on it specific to Amazon.
Its constantly wanting to isolate my computer until I upgrade or update shit every Sunday I come back to work for the week.
We also use tons of excel tools for calculations that it is a resource hog.
I may have 4-5 different excel tools and trackers open at once.
I hate it.
