Aren't you worried about the striker long term?

Yeah I like the feel of it with a 15, I have 4 15s and 2 12s. Nice to move out of a city where they were illegal into a city where they're legal.

I replaced the striker with an Apex, though I never had a problem with the original.

This store lived close to you?

Meh. You could be sitting on decades of supplies, but it's still going to require a shitload of luck just to survive if it really does hit the fan. You can't really properly prepare for something that unexpected. Odds get exponentially worse the more family you have to protect and provide for. Bug out bag and weapons be damned, you're still probably gonna die soon.

Yeah... my theory would be that people vastly underestimate what would have to happen to require one week of food, much less a month or more, ammo, etc.

My source would be grocery store shelves whenever it's supposed to snow.

I mean, maybe you are preparing for a nuclear bomb, in which case good luck!

Forget it. I’m too old to kill people for food. Don’t think I’d have the Will to live in a post nuclear world. Maybe survival instinct will take over? But since I live by 2 major DOD bases. I’m sure they have multiple nukes targeted in my backyard.

What about a zombie apocalypse? Think you’d survive?

I don't like the stippling on the FNs. I don't mind aggressive grip texture, but to me the FN feels like shooting a porcupine.

You can get EMP-hardened solar power systems. Or the more fun way to prevent this would be to build a Faraday cage around your house. :D

Just go to the dump and get as many discarded microwaves as you can find, bring them back, take the doors off, and liquid nail them together around your house. Cheaper. And you would have a bunch of transformers that you could do some cool wood burning stuff with, should the EMP never go off.

When we lived in Hollywood Hills the plan was to have two enduro bikes and backpacks with the necessary things to get out of the LA area in case of massive earthquake or a dirty bomb, etc.

In Santa Monica it was similar but with a Zodiac type inflatable (much easier to escape by sea than through the freeway system)

Now in the suburbs elsewhere in CA, it's not as much for me about guns riots etc, it's earthquakes, blackouts, and fires. So, water and food, a generator, but also simple backpack with water and MREs and the small stuff. Mountainbikes. A camper.

The smartest thing to have on hand is fishing supplies. You can always feed yourself from a river/lake/pond. Thinking you're going to go out and harvest meat is insane. If you kill a deer you're going to eat for a couple days and then you have a pile of rotting meat.

and having gold and silver is ****ing stupid. In a true survival mode who in the hell is going to give you food for a silver coin.
