Projecting somebody out as a GOAT is a fool's errand anyway. The guy that everyone says is the GOAT right now was a game managing joke four years into the start of his career.

Brady had already won 3 Super Bowls 4 years into being a starter. Might be an inconvenient truth for your narrative but it's the truth nevertheless.

That would be absolutely irreparable damage to any bit of faith in the authenticity of any sports league.

It’s ABSOLUTELY ridiculous to think that had anything to do with what happened on Sunday. Do you have any idea how much $$$ it would take to make that worthwhile to someone like Mahomes? No way it happens..

Joe Montana was once benched in the 3rd quarter of a playoff game. Remember that? Of course not, no one does, and it sure as **** doesn’t impact his legacy.

This legacy talk of Mahomes is ridiculous. One more title and the parting shot from this postseason will be the Buffalo game and the motivation Mahomes needed to come back.

Sure, he could go the Rodgers and Wilson route. But I believe in Patrick.

We’ll be back.

Was that the Vikings beatdown?

No way man. Brady had 3 rings in 4 years. Mahomes’ goal at this point needs to be consistent performance on a play-by-play basis. Become the most consistent player he can be. Perhaps it will lead to another ring at some point, but a lot depends on the front office.

Yeah it’s also pretty easy to say his numbers weren’t as good because of the era of those early wins given what he proceeded to become later.

Sure was. Joe was already a 2x Super Bowl champ and playing a vastly inferior opponent, to boot.

Burrow has the perfect all American face to represent the nfl. Maybe even better than brady.

Wouldn’t surprise me.

It’s a different era. 24 hour news cycle. Montana also had a much better defense backing him and he played in the era when you could build super-teams without a salary cap.

Mahomes sold his soul to beat the Bills.

The debt he owed came due in the second half against the Bengals.

It happens to the greatest.

That's the reality we just haven't experienced as Chiefs fans, until now.

And now we experienced that reality back to back: getting blistered in the big one, and getting gut punched at home in the AFCCG after being up big.

Tough lessons, learned fast. It will pay off in the next decade.

Did Jackson do something so ****ed up at halftime it got to him like Britney's stepfather having a heart attack before the 1st half ended then the 2nd half Patrick's play dip

This only really impacts Mahomes’s legacy if it ends up being one of several blown opportunities in the postseason.

If this is a blip, it will be all but forgotten in a few years.

If we blow several more postseason leads (and there’s no reason to believe we will), then it will stick with him as an example of him not being able to rise to the occasion.

smithandrew051 01-31-2022 07:06 PM

Basically, is this the exception or the rule?

So far, it’s the exception.
