We'll see. Tennis won't do a thing for his technique. Lessons from Roaf would have. Herschel Walker and Lynn Swann both took ballet lessons. Ballet never became a thing either among NFL players despite its claimed benefits.

Facts. A lot of explosive, lateral movements and flexibility required for tennis. Should definitely benefit OBJ as he seeks to improve against the speed rush. If/when he does report to camp, it wouldn't surprise me if he was at 330-340 lbs.

I bet he doesn’t show for camp but I think him showing up on time with everyone else would be a strong message to send to Veach and Andy

But is it technique work he needs?

He needs to play lighter than he did last year and improve his first-step quickness.

Tennis is excellent for both.

Just fyi like 2/3 of your posts are swinging into a thread and calling everyone a reerun and nobody really enjoys that or is impressed.

Kinda reminds me of Rashard Mendenhall taking dance classes to help his balance

Tell Orlando there’s an all you can eat BBQ, he’ll show up.

Tennis is excellent for both.

I played varsity tennis in college and taught tennis after that. I never felt qualified to become a left tackle because of the sport.

1. He is still learning the position so, yeah, he needs to improve his technique. Willie Roaf's technique put him in the HOF.
2. He needs to play lighter. If that means get his butt moving then yes.
3. Tennis will improve footwork for some. One off season of tennis won't help a 344 lineman improve quickness. Losing weight might but his major strength was his size.

We'll see. I would love to be proven wrong, trust.

I would hope he shows up and goes about his business, but I'm guessing he will not.

smithandrew051 07-18-2022 11:20 AM

We should have a poll on how much he’ll weigh
