People pointed out that our tackles aren't very good and probably need to be improved, at best the jury's out. I thought OBJ ended pretty strong last year, but tell me you're confident giving him the contract Veach offered.

Staylor may have a point, it might not matter because Mahomes. It might just mean you drop the odd game you shouldn't. I don't think Wylie is actually as bad as some suggest, especially at that cost, and OBJ could still have a strong year. But perfectly reasonable questions asked of our OTs.

the problem isn't that OBJ sucks, he doesn't. The problem is that he turned down a giant contract because he wanted to be paid like Trent Williams but his level of play isn't even close. He's ok, he's good. But he's not a Trent Williams or a Willie Roaf. He doesn't dominate like those guys have.

Yeah I think that's probably right. He has a big enough body of work where he's been an above average to fairly good OT, albeit a better RT. That's probably where he is and that's the range he should be paid at. This year he's been poor imo but not unreasonable to expect he improves back to that level.

I was pretty much half asleep for most of the game with this damn sinus infection, but did we shift philosophy a bit when it comes to rushing the football? Seems like a lot more of the runs were designed to get CEH and Pacheco going downfield ASAP instead of stretching the field first

These plays were available last year too but now we're taking them.

Look, the 2019-2020 offenses were a lot of fun, but defenses adjusted. They're forcing Mahomes (and the other young stud QB's) to have to be patient, consistent, and execute long drives to beat them.

Run the ball. Hit the short and intermediate stuff. Execute. Then you'll get some deep shots open up.

It's just the way it is. Good to see Big Red stick with the run, and the quicker hitting runs most of the game. That needs to be the backbone moving forward.
