Yikes. The dreaded steinstrasse (stonestreet). I’ve seen those take up the entire mid/distal ureter.

The human ureters are pretty amazing. Average of 3mm circumference I’ve seen stones as large 2.3cm in circumference formed in them. Crazy stuff.

I had a guy with one over 2.5 and I think I must of asked him “are you sure you are not feeling any pain” so often he was definitely looking at me like I was a little crazy , I think it was a f/u post lithotripsy.

I never had pancreatitis, but somebody told me it’s worse than gout lol. The individual never had kidney stones to compare. I have heard terrible things about pancreatitis.

I don't fear much, but two of my uncommon, weird fears would be:

1. Having to pass a kidney stone

2. Sink holes.

Hopefully I never get a stone. If it's even half as bad as pancreatitis it is too much. If more painful than pancreatitis then death might be better option.

I think kidney stones might be slightly more acute but pancreatitis to me would seem more constant both suck for different reasons, stone pain tends to come in waves so you get a bit of a break but might be harder to control with meds , morphine didn’t really help me at all , never had pancreatitis though so absolutely just guessing and every case is different but by far the worst pain I ever had was nerve pain constant/acute/no relief.

Remove the kidneys. No kidneys. No kidney stones. Haha

I just happened to see an article about stones with a pic of one under a microscope.

Feast your eyes.

My wife has given birth 3 times, a couple of ectopic pregnancies, but kidney stones were the worst thing she has ever went through. The drive to the ER sucked.

Had it for the first time in the spring. Had it during the middle of school.
Had to leave my classroom and students mid-period. Brutal. As STaylor said, worst pain of my life. They gave me morphine and it did nothing. If it really is as bad as childbirth than good bless women everywhere. Feeling for you.

I've had kidney stones twice. First time wasn't bad. Wasn't sure what happened. Back just felt funny. Felt like I had to pee big time. Did. Something did not feel right. But it passed. Second time. Got the same wierd feeling in lower back. Much worse symptoms. Much worse. Took a couple-three days to pass. Brutal. Passsed in a blood clot. Wierd feeling. But glad it was over. Didn't dig the stone out of the blood clot, but would be surprised if it had words on it when looked at under the microscope. But that image is what is suspected it looked like on it's travels from my kidneys to my bladder. Pure torture!!!
