Reporter: "John Sherman, what is keeping the Royals from actually winning games and making the playoffs?"

John Sherman: "I'm glad you asked, it's obvious that our struggles are directly related to the ballpark not being downtown."

They are going to put it in the lame part of downtown and it will face away from the skyline ugh

ROYC75 11-15-2022 06:33 PM

A new stadium downtown is not going to attract 25-30 thousand fans per game but it will be a logistical nightmare for traffic.

People scared of not having a flat parking lot. LMAO

Meh, Sprint/TMobile Center is ~18k and it does okay downtown, and from my experience they put no effort at all into traffic control.

If they put even a little effort into managing foot traffic and car traffic, it wouldn't be bad at all. Plenty of other cities do it. I've always gotten out of Chase Field in downtown Phoenix far faster than Kauffman Stadium, for example.

Only spot downtown that would have been good for a skyline view is where the Kauffman Center is.

And one way streets.

And change.

Don’t care where they move it. Downtown is fine. Kansas would be fine. Put it in grandview for all I care. Just stop losing 100 games a year

I can get out of the Busch Stadium lots quicker than the Sports Complex.

Same people bitching about the baseball stadium downtown will still go to a sold out KU or concert at Sprint Center.

I did, too, once... but the motivation of not getting stabbed had me walking pretty quickly, too.

Is the KC Star building still around? Put it there, facing north. A bunch of stuff has developed south of the loop and just funnel people to 71 and the loop afterwards.

Flashcube too IIRC. The renderings look ok but they remind me of Atlantas surroundings which is god awful

TribalElder 11-15-2022 06:51 PM

just move the team to the legends

it doesn't matter where they play if they never finish over .500
