Don't know if it's because we endured 50 years of mediocrity, but damn it sure feels good.

Youngest team in the NFL?

Two words.

Bart Veach.

That said, great win and great game by Mahomes. Let's keep it going. A lot of football left to be played.

But he is right, you know.

Mediocrity? You are being way too kind. :shake:

A ton of really shitty football, some small windows of good football during the season, millions of hope dashed in the playoffs.

Just take a moment to remember Mike Livingston, Bill Kenney, Todd Blackledge, Steve DeBerg, Rich Gannon, Elvis Grbac, Dave Kreig 2nd hand, Joe Montana beat up, Tyler Palko, Tyler Thigpen, Brody Croyle, Matt Cassel and Alex Smith.

I get nauseous just thinking about it.

I've been a Chiefs fan since 75. It wasn't as easy for me since my parents thought sports were stupid. Dad was a casual Cowboys fan since he was born in Texas, but rarely watched them. Dad was in the Army so we moved around a lot which made it that much harder. When we were in Germany, I can remember staying up late at night listening to games on the radio when I was supposed to be sleeping. I joined the Air Force out of HS and again was out of market, but kept up with the Chiefs as much as I could. When I got out I moved to Florida,. Things started getting easier with the advent of the internet and eventually the NFL Sunday Ticket. Through it all, the Chiefs were always my team.

What we have the privilege of watching now is my reward for all I've been through to follow them from afar. What an amazing time to be a Chiefs fan!

Sure he can. Plenty of pundits and fans consider Barry Sanders the greatest running back ever and it's not a ridiculous argument. Football is a team sport and you can absolutely be the best at your position but not have the supporting cast.

That said, I will be disappointed if he doesn't get at least one more championship before he's done.

He seems to have a sixth sense and everything slows down for him as the play develops. You can see it as he navigates down the field. This is a special talent and he has it in spades. He seems to know what the defender is going to do and he reacts to it before it happens. It's still hard to believe that we got him at the 10th pick in the draft and nobody else could see his potential.

I loved watching him put a hand on his offense tackle as he was being driven back into him. He has gotten so comfortable in the pocket now I just pity other teams.

It isn’t particularly close at the moment and his lead is widening.

Mahomes is HOF amazing but i’m not sure last night is the night that proves that (there are other nights that do a much better job of proving that point).

He was off most of the game and the game winning TD was a 5 yard pass that Kelce took the rest of the way. Great play design too.

Sour grapes.

He is the most clutch qb in nfl history and has the numbers to back it up.

And yet there are negative ingrates each week in the game thread who bitch and moan like it's 2012.

I realize you've become accustomed to your QB throwing interceptions in that situation, so the term "clutch" might be new for you.

I remember we played the raiders this year and they led 20-10 at half. my only thought was: oh shit, they didn't score enough points to weather the second half. Patrick has got this game won.

redfan 11-21-2022 10:29 AM

Yep, pro football is pretty dang fun when the best player in the League plays for your favorite team. And in this case, the best player in the League is Pat Mahomes II and he plays for the (my favorite team, btw) Kanas City Chiefs!!
