The Jaguars suck.

If not for penalties and careless turnovers, the last two games are laughers with very one-sided statsheets. To me that's a focus issue. Mahomes got careless with a 27-0 first half lead in Denver and I don't think they took Houston very seriously until the 4th quarter.

I do worry about teams like the Bengals and Bills tearing our defense apart, but KC is as capable or more of doing the same to theirs. I think HFA will be important for the defense.

Penalties are often a talent issue - get beat, get grabby.

Turnovers can be, especially with our rookie RB showing a tendency to put the ball on the ground. And they can be exacerbated but shootout scenarios where the offense tries to get too aggressive.

And in the end, we've done it all year. At a point, we are what we are.

I’d say penalties have more often been an officiating issue. Does it seem legit to you that a quarter of their flags this year have been thrown by Cheffers in two games? That doesn’t even include the several that were declined or offset.

I don’t consider this a highly turnover-prone team. Take away the muffed punts (which he won’t be in position to do again) and they’re middle of the pack in turnovers. A lot of them have just been Mahomes getting greedy with a big lead and taking unnecessary chances. I don’t see that happening in a big playoff game.

I'm just not sure this team is strictly a focus issue.

There are very real talent issues on the DL and a young secondary that I just don't think you can count on. And you don't have "**** it, Tyreek's down there somewhere" to bail you out either.

The ups and downs on this team are more a result of roster than in years past, IMO. Focused or not, I just don't think they have the requisite talent and/or experience to be a consistently championship caliber team.

Now that's not to say anyone else out there is appreciably better in that regard - but I think this is the least 'playoff ready' team we've had since '18. It can be focused and just...lose. Because it relies more on coaching/scheme than any team we've had in that era.

Yeah, I'm with you on this. The SB years, I fully expected us to make it to the SB. I would've been shocked if anyone in the AFC would've taken us out. Last year, I was worried about the Bills but figured we wouldn't lose to Cinci twice in the same season, so that was a little shocking. This year, I won't be shocked if we lose to either one of those teams. I'm not necessarily saying that we will, but instead of being THE team in the AFC come playoff time, we will be A team (of the caliber that can make the SB, with Cinci and Buff in that group) in the AFC.

Can we beat both Cinci and Buffalo? Sure. But it's not a no brainer in my mind like it was with whomever we played in 19 and 20. I mean, we're just not going to beat Josh Allen in the playoffs every year for the next 15 years. Conversely, we're not going to always lose to Joe Burrow. The problem is, the crossroads of both scenarios could play out even this year. We could beat the Bengals and then lose to the Bills. Again, I'm not saying we will, I won't be shocked if we make the SB. But I also won't be shocked (different than disappointed) if we lose in the Divisional Round.

Yes they do. Peterson will screw it up soon, literally.

Then Cincy and Buffalo would have to go through one another to get to us. I’d rather not have to play both.

Gee I say this and get hammered by Bearcat aka Bare Ass! At least someone else sees this!

Jags D is tough.

They need 2-3 good offensive players, a DB or so and not much more.

AFC has about 6 excellent teams.

Don't want them or Chargers.

Stop. Please stop.

The Jaguars barely beat the Josh Dobbs-lead Titans.

If you’re afraid of them and bouncing threads, I want to give you a hug.

They can be good. And their game against the likely Chargers is gonna be super, super fun.

But it’s the ****ing playoffs. Of course we’ll play teams that have potential.

This.

It would be severely disappointing if we don't beat them by a couple TDs in a hypothetical home divisional playoff game.

I don't fear them like I fear the Bolts.

Bearcat 01-07-2023 10:19 PM

LOL, why must we talk about "dangerous" mediocre teams every ****ing season? LMAO

The playoffs are an entirely different beast... and they just shat down their leg for most of 4 quarters at home because of the pressure to simply get into the playoffs from inside the worst division in football.

Eleazar 01-07-2023 10:24 PM

NOBODY WANTS TO PLAY THE -

(a team that is mediocre and mistake prone, and has been getting away with things against trash division opponents that they won't get away with in the playoffs)

RealSNR 01-07-2023 10:31 PM

Remember when Kareem Hunt wanted revenge on the Chiefs and we were supposed to fear him in the playoffs?

Those were good times.

Too bad Doug Pederson now wants revenge and is totally going to coach twice as hard as he normally would. We're doomed.

cmh6476 01-07-2023 10:33 PM

Mahomes, Allen, Burrow and Mahomes could be the division Champs for the next three or four years.

Sassy Squatch 01-07-2023 10:34 PM

LMAO Last year the fans were dressing up like clowns in protest during the season finale. Now they're in the playoffs. Not sure if that's more a testament to Pederson or just how ****ing horrific Meyer was.
