He may be an option like last years McKinnon where you use him sparingly in the season then go heavy toward the playoffs. I’d prefer not to lose hardman but I don’t think you can justify what another team is willing to pay him. When Toney is on the field he does a lot of the same things, but also offers more on YAC and all the in between that aren’t just hitches and deep routes. During the season you can use skyy to fill in some of those reps.

It’s going to come down to wether or not Hardman wants more money or wants to be a Chief. I’m guessing how the season ends may play a huge roll.

There's a zero percent chance that Hardman is a guy who would ever choose to remain a Chief just to win more games. That's no disrespect to him. He's a very high upside guy who I'm sure feels that in the right situation with the right targets could actually be elite. I'm deepy skeptical as he has at many times in his career played a lot of dumb and careless football but seems to have at least cleaned that up a bit.

I don't entirely trust Toney from a health standpoint but I think we're in a much better place to spend the Hardman money on retaining JuJu and not cutting MVS.

Hardman does come off immature.

I don’t think Hardman can fill the MVS role.

Ie, I’d rather have Toney and MVS next year than Toney and Hardman and I’m pretty sure that’s how things are gonna end up.

Have to agree. Toney and Hardman arent exactly alike but are similar. You would rather have Toney and MVS than Toney and Hardman. Although the Chiefs can get out of the MVS contract pretty easily after this year. I hope there is a better option 3.

Sign a god damned WR1. Whatever it takes.

If I'm JuJu I'm just going to the highest bidder. Its his chance finally to secure the bag. No reason to take any discount at all to remain a Chief.

Exactly lol some old farts around here forgot what they were like at 24  then sprinkle in the fact he gets paid handsomely to play a game...

Travis Kelce does more immature acts than Hardman and lots of players are immature.

I think Hardman is ready to take advantage of a market that a year ago paid Christain Kirk $18 mil a year. Teams pay for speed and he has shown enough to get other teams interested. Think his salary ends up being not much behind Juju’s and for me I’d rather secure Juju and find other speed options in the draft.

Andy Reid draws mustaches on players faces when they're sleeping on the flight home.

Couch-Potato 12-27-2022 11:25 PM

I’d really be surprised if Hardman resigns at a discounted price only because this might be his only chance at big $$$. He really didn’t make a lot of money off of his 1st contract. I think he averaged about $1.25 million year on his rookie deal. I’m sure after taxes, helping family members and other obligations, he isn’t set up financially yet. This might be his only chance to set him and his family financially for life. I searched to see what teams might pursue Hardman in free agency and the Browns and Raiders were mentioned.

BossChief 12-28-2022 12:50 AM

Sone one will likely pay Mecole as a high end #2WR due to his speed, but he won’t be worth it.

I’d love to have him back as a high end gadget player salary, but that’s where it ends for me.

Depending on how free agency shakes out, I can see us being savvy in this upcoming FA period snd possibly bringing either Mecole or Juju back on a new deal that’s reasonable…but I’ll be surprised if both don’t want to test FA.
