If he really wants to prove himself, he makes a lateral move to a struggling team with a coach that could be on the hot seat. Prove he can make a difference and improve an offense drastically when he shows up....and be in a position to move up if the team is failing.

You go where the money is. Who cares what you think you "deserve" or what you're capable of. At this point, you've got a couple championships. Take care of yourself and your family.

I said this in another thread this morning, as long as he's under Andy, he's stuck. He's had 17 HC interviews since 2019. He's either the worst interview ever or teams are convinced he's all smoke and mirrors. Until he proves himself elsewhere, he's not going to get the big bucks.

I think the OC job in Washington, if offered, would be the right path for Eric.
Andy likes to be able to call plays and be an important part of the Chiefs' offense. The Chiefs run best when Andy has control. To show that he can do it, Eric needs to go someplace where he has total control of offense which he will never get here. Side Note - Eric needs to stay away from "chopping wood and carrying water" and all the other expressions he likes to use while explaining hard work and getting to team goals that he wants to achieve. I hope Eric gets his opportunity as a HC, but I think he will need to go to Washington to do it. |
IF Bieniemy takes the OC job for Washington, that is EXACTLY why he has never been hired as a HC- that would PROVE a complete lack of intelligence and good decision making.
|
He needs to get out of Andy's shadow. Also, has the draft pick compensation hurt him? I could see Irsay choosing to go with Steichen over EB, simply to keep the Chiefs from getting 2 more 3rd round picks. Veach has been killing the draft. I'm sure that no team wants to give him more day 2 picks.

Take what he can get and show he is more than a clipboard holder
Chiefs would benefit from new talent/creativity. As long as Andy is the boss, we will do fine. New eyes and new ideas are always good in any business. |
I'd choose to stay at the place where I'm successful with a great team around me over going to some scrub team. Ride that horse as long as you can.

You know, the more I think about this, the more angry i get.
If i were EB I'd take that WAS job. And then I'd make it my mission in life to be the best OC in the league, just so i could shove that right up the asses of every hater/doubter owner in the NFL. **** those self-righteous pricks sideways with a pineapple. |

I'd stay in place and ride the gravy train until Andy retires expecting to be his replacement. Unless I was brash enough to think I was smarter than Andy and could take another team to beat him.
|
I hope EB eventually gets a HC gig and WRECKS shit to prove these assholes wrong. Wherever he goes, I wish him success.
But, to answer the question, he's probably going to have to leave KC |
