MJ Melendez feels like a pivot point for your offense.

With Pasquantino and Witt there's enough talent there to almost have a strong offensive core. But you need a 3rd guy to really deepen that run production and create a threat for crooked numbers.

If Melendez can produce to the level of some of his batted ball metrics while also continuing to work on his patience, you guys have the beginnings of a nice offense.

Then again, it's still just the beginnings. You're always gonna have a cap on an offense that heavily features Dozier, Isbel, Eaton and even Lopez who, for all his defensive ability, simply isn't much of an offensive threat.

Having an entire inning where a pitcher can catch his breath and regroup makes it really difficult to sustain a strong O. Even teams with a truly great middle of the order need to have better supporting crews around them than that to keep those pitchers on the ropes while the lineup turns over.
