Just like every game with Patrick Mahomes at QB
...I believe we can win.

I EXPECT this. I expect a win every time the Chiefs take the field anymore. Because Mahomes.

But with our injuries and bone headed plays this year (including last week, I'm looking at you Hardman), ANTICIPATE a loss.

Maybe anticipate isn't the right term. I just could see a loss. It wouldn't surprise me is what I'm saying.

As a great basketball coach once said, we don't need him to make the spectacular plays, we need him to make the ordinary plays.

Either our defense forced Lamar into turnovers and we win by multiple scores or both offenses have their way and it comes down to either Butker or Tucker kicking a game winner.

I expect not only a tough game, but a semi-brutal matchup, these teams are fairly well matched and both are franchises with cultures of success. The Chiefs culture of success is not only much more current, it’s active, it’s here, it’s now. I expect the most post season experienced team in all of the playoffs (all of the league really), and helmed by Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid to find a way to pull it out in the end.

The further into this week we get, the more quietly confident I am.

The Ravens are a good team, there would be no shame in losing to them.

BUT, the Chiefs are way more battle tested. Mahomes has faced the No.1 scoring defense 6 times in his career, and is currently 6-0.

Have we ever had an easy, blow out play off win in the Mahomes era?

42-21 over Steelers in the WC.

Outside of the first quarter, the divisional round game against Houston was pretty dominating.

No. Just stating the obvious. Playoff wins are talked about during the playoffs. Who is in the all time great or greatest ever is because of SB wins.

I'm not real worried about the legacy aspect though since I'm not Patrick Mahomes and really give no shits what other people remember or argue about on television... this season for me will be marked by beating the Bills at their house, and lesser so for the novelty of -30⁰... and then if more great things happen, obviously the better.

If those wins and like :13 gets lost in the minds of others, then fine.... I also don’t remember most of Brady's playoff wins, but I'll sure as hell remember these.

Chiefs win. The media is helping us a lot. I know pro athletes shouldn’t need to be doubted but we’ve seen the competitor come out in mahomes when the media hyped up opposing qbs. They were calling Josh Allen super man and mahomes had his best game of the year IMO against the bills last week. His accuracy was amazing. He made catching the ball easier. Mahomes decision making was on point also, especially with his big plays running. Mahomes is gonna be hype with the media doubting him again. And the best pass rusher for the ravens is a DT. If mahomes struggles, it’s normally against edge pressure, especially with our tackles and the ravens don’t have dominant edge rushers. I like our matchups offensively against the ravens. Mahomes has another great game and we win.

And defensively our matchups are even better. The media has been blowing up the ravens LBs but our LBs are gonna play well in limiting Lamar. Gay, Chenal, Bolton and Tranquil are all fast and can limit Lamar. Mcduffie is gonna hold down flowers. And Conner has really stepped up too. Our matchups with our CBs versus their WRs is favorable to us. We need a plan for likely and andrews. We saw that against the bills. Limit the big plays and limit Josh Allen. Our defensive line did a great job of containing Allen as well. Same recipe this week against the ravens. Do people really think the ravens offense is better than the bills? The bills are a tougher opponent offensively. Cook, Kincaid, diggs and even shakir were all playing well.and our defense played great, especially in the 2nd half. I agree that our defense plays bend but don’t break defense in the first half but the clamps come out in the 2nd half and we hold them to 10 points or less in the second half.

We could actually blow these guys out. If the chiefs can get ahead and put some pressure on Lamar to pass and get them away from the run game a little bit, and if Lamar is playing catch up, we can force turnovers and possibly run away with this game.

This. I won't be thrilled if they dump it. But I've said it for a long time... It's GODDAMN hard to win. It is exponentially harder to win consistently - that's why nobody does it.

After not winning a playoff game for 25 ****ing years, this team has earned a ton of rope.

Now, that being said, if this team shits the bed, I won't be thrilled. If they just beat us, OK they're really good.

It takes some luck to win. When you have talent it increases your margin to deal with luck. That is magnified when you have elite talent at leverage positions (QB passrush etc). So I like our chances. But they're good so nothing is guaranteed.

Yep, and within how hard it is to win year after year, that's why the Chiefs didn't beat both the Bills and Bengals in 2021 and the Bengals didn't beat both the Bills and Chiefs last season.... it's ****ing hard when facing true SB contenders.

And if the Ravens are one as well and win, then tip your cap and reload for next season.

I'm going in with ZERO expectations.

This team has already gone further than most if not all of us expected based on how weird the regular season went.

6 straight AFCCG's is absurd - and if they lose, so be it. They'll be even stronger next year.

Or maybe we'll just **** around and win another Lombardi.

This is probably the most reasoned post about the game tomorrow....although a SB win this year is the goal, how this team has done so far this year based on their play shows just how good the tandem of Reid/Mahomes/Kelce are....with a big nod to Spags for turning this defense into a force.

In my lifelong Chiefs Fandom I have seen way too much really bad football to be disappointed in the team this year.

crayzkirk 01-27-2024 09:53 AM

I expect to be entertained.

It's been a really weird season; I expect the Chiefs to play well and I also expect there to be times where I'm screaming at the TV wondering WTF they are doing. I expect both teams to be able to move the ball between the 20s. Efficiency in the Red Zone is going to be the deciding factor.

The defense is going to have it's hands full and the offense would really help them by not going 3 and out.

Chiefs win late; down 4 with 2+ minutes left with an unexpected player making a key play.

The Jags and Browns were both headed that way.... and the first Mahomes playoff win wasn't close. And then the Steelers as pointed out. The Dolpihns wasn't all that close either, they weren't ever winning that game..

mr. tegu 01-27-2024 09:54 AM

A stress free fourth quarter because Lamar won’t be able to keep the game within reach.
