I figured as much, then I saw she was 2nd in the voting and figured there had to be some story or stories I simply missed.

Doesn't seem that way.

Gonna say that's just a flat out wrong answer. I'd vote Berry or Green ahead of her. She was Lamar's wife - that was it. She wasn't instrumental in the history of the Chiefs.

It's a sympathy vote and little else from what I can tell.

I was coming here to say exactly the same thing. She seemed to be a football fan and she supported the Chiefs, but so do most of us. Did she ever have any impact that was felt on the football field?

And I don't fault him for wanting the most money possible, but there was this contingent of "**** you pay me" players in the NFL who used this dumbass line about them getting paid out the ass to help set up all players to get paid more or something as if they were making a sacrifice. He parroted some of that shit before Clark stepped in and got him his money, and that really didn't sit right with a lot of fans, particularly after the franchise stuck by him and paid him in full through his cancer treatment season.

Jamaal and DJ played for division rivals which is far worse. Jamaal said he’s always been a Broncos fan and wanted revenge against us.

Every player falls apart at some point. It’s only natural to want your money. Can’t say I’d be much different if I was in his shoes

This is how I feel too. It seemed he quit on the team after he was treated fairly by the Chiefs. Now there could be another side to the story we don't know. He and Justin Houston seemed to have turned on the front office.

Yeah, it seems like this should be Jamaal or DJ in a walk.

Haven't you heard behind every successful man is a strong woman:p

Maybe this is my ignorance talking, but she was the wife of the founder. And it's not like she drove Lamar - that guy was a wildcatter through and through. Was she instrumental in the history of the Chiefs in some way?

I don't get that at all. Should we put Lamar's brothers up there? Is Tavia Hunt gonna be in the RoH someday?

I'm open to be convinced here - was she from KC and that's why Lamar brought the team here? Was Lamar looking to sell and her influence and love of the SB or whatever instrumental in him retaining ownership?

True Fans have a Norma tattoo over their heart.

Willie Roaf and Will Shields should both on the list

Eric Berry is a no brainer

Gary Cooper 05-28-2024 04:37 PM

If Okoye is in there, shouldn't Charles be also?

comochiefsfan 05-28-2024 04:38 PM

Maybe a hot take:

There are already way too many people in the Ring of Honor. It should be limited to hall of famers imo.

I like that it goes beyond Hall of Famers. Those guys are already getting great accolades. I think the Ring of Honor is a great next tier down of acknowledgement.

Tavia and Gracie start showing their tits and they can be in the ring IMO

I'm not against the concept.

It is kind of embarrassing how bloated it is already. ALOT of names up there that are cringe worthy already. Good lord it should be reserved for legendary players.
