Have to admit I wasn’t super high on Worthy but kind of placed him out of my mind after the combine bc like the Chiefs I also thought there was no way this kid would fall past the early 20’s at worst

Why did Chiefs draft Xavier Worthy? Inside the meeting he aced — and chaos he created

Haven't read it. Just a wild guess.

It actually is the opposite. It talks about his football IQ. Worthy appears to be the anti-Kadarious Toney.

Good article. I'm guessing his size is what allowed him to drop as far. Not every team is into small and fast WRs like Reid is. If he's 6'2" he's probably a top 10 pick.

Excited to see what he'll do. The biggest problem might end up being if defenses go back to playing insanely safe coverage. That benefits Rice and Juju and Kelce but there are teams out there who are going to sell out to stop Mahomes from going off even if it means allowing 5 yards a carry.

If thats how they wanna be, relentlessly gashing them 5-20 yards a pop works just fine for me

Yup. Been there, done that, won a SB off of it.

If teams choose death by a thousand cuts, that's not at all a problem for us.

I just put $10 to win $250 on Worthy being the OROY...

He's just under 6 feet tall. He's like 3 inches taller than Hollywood Brown. He's basically the size of Devonta Smith but insanely faster.

This whole size thing is way overblown.

You wasted $10.

Nakua wrecked creation last year and didn't get OROY. Worthy won't be as prolific as Nakua was, he's just not that high in the offensive pecking order.

And there are at least 2 rookie starting QBs - those guys always get a huge head start on these end of season awards.

I just don't see even a slight chance that it happens.

Sounds like Worthy may be able to absorb stuff a lot quicker than Rice was able to do it. And if that is the case then he will probably get a lot more early on than Rice did last year. :)

Agreed, dude just didn't want to put the work in..what is most important about Worthy. Getting this as a rookie with mahomes. That is where mahomes and Kelce shine. They know when to break off a route and sit in the open spot.

A open wr is 100x easier to get to, then them running your route through double covered.

Tyreek is built like a fire hydrant. Xavier's slim build worries me but I assure you I'm hoping for the best. Once he takes a couple of NFL hits I'll set all that aside.

I know, parenthood makes you a worry wart in way too many aspects of life.
