Also the playcalling should have adjusted quicker… running into brick walls for minimal gain first downs… not good.

Yep, too many 3rd and Long situations after gaining basically 0 yards on 1st and 2nd down. Hopefully they can find a way to play better next week. They'll need it. I don't think 16 points is enough to defeat Buffalo.

Division rival whose ass we've been kicking embarrassingly twice a year for years now.

It's a brother vs brother type of fight.

Last time they scored the same number of points in consecutive weeks was in the 2021 playoffs, so we're probably safe there.

Our offense needs to figure out how to move the ball a lot better, because we aren't going to be playing a slate of the worst defenses/offenses in the league come playoff time.

I don't think it's an excuse it's just how it is in the NFL. Go back and look at the Pats run. They would have trouble beating some pretty bad Dolphins teams. It is what it is.

I think we can also all agree that the offense is going to have to be better. Mahomes did some things that he doesn't always do today. He had Kelce wide open in the endzone and missed him. There's a lot of work to do for the offense. Same was true last year. They just have to get it rolling by playoff time

They had trouble with MIA in December. And for the longest time I thought it was just the temp difference, going from 30 degrees to 80 degrees. But found out watching some podcast with a bunch of former NE players, including Gronk, that it was because half the team went out drinking and partying the night before the game, because it was Miami and they'd just come from NE. They were hungover.

They need to do it at some point and the sooner the better. Maybe against the Panthers but no later IMO.

Our WRs outside of Hopkins continue to just not be good. I don’t want to run kelce and dhop completely into the ground. We need juju for some quick hitters. And we need Hollywood to open things up because worthy right now looks like he needs to fall back into more of an Mvs decoy role.

We just need to hang in there until these guys get healthy.

Of course a lot of that depends on our OL staying healthy because our depth is frightening.

I'll be honest, I was frustrated at how many times DHop wasn't on the field on 3rd down. And how many times he wasn't even looked at when he was. It felt like he was being used as a decoy so Pat could try and get one into Worthy or Watson or whoever. And the lack of targets in the EZ was infuriating.

But we won, so I guess that's all that matters. Offensive efficiency be damned, I guess.

Mahomes running for his life, LT position has got to be improved by any means necessary, and for me it means bringing back Smith even if it is as a backup. I cannot believe how relieved I was when I saw Morris (Morris!?) coming back into the game in the 4th quarter. LT depth is a huge huge issue, it was before the season started and still is, it's gross negligence on the Chiefs front office if they don't improve it. It's going to cost us Pat for the season if this continues.

Not much to add except that the four down DL weren't getting any pressure. You could put almost any QB back there with that amount of time and they will make you pay. TEs continued to be an issue. I didn't pay as much attention as normal because I was distracted with family issues however Mahomes had no time at all and they need to give up on the WR screen. It doesn't work...

Mostly, it looked like the Broncos had the Chiefs playbook and were getting away with a LOT of contact.

Similar to last week, the defense had the chance to stop the other team and instead they moved the length of the field and were in position to win. Call it good scheming or whatever, I call it very lucky to win this game. As a whole, the team didn't look very good.

So I went to the game, and have been busy since, but there were some interesting nuggets I wanted to share.

I didn't realize how bad Kingsley got beat on some snaps. ****. Also didn't realize Mahomes was as gimpy as he was until I rewatched the broadcast. ****.

I sat by a couple Donk fans. They were great to sit by. Apparently they live in Manhattan and are KU Fans and Donko fans. Bold move. Anyway, they weren't douches at all, which was great.

Anyway, here's how they see the world.

1. They are EPIC pissed we got DHop for "free". I didn't have the heart to tell him Veach would have turned that pick into something, so he wasn't free, despite how hard it is to conceptualize with a GM like Paton. But whatever. The rest of the league apparently doesn't think he's washed and are pissed. PISSED.

2. Kelce is always open, no mention of his lack of explosiveness or his lesser stats. LOL. The pain was real on the couple important plays he made.

3. Mahomes will figure it out. Regardless of the struggles he's facing.

4. Mahomes gets all the calls. :spock: OK...

5. They had a shocking lack of excitement for Nix. I thought he's been pretty solid, and played pretty well that game. Ate a couple really bad sacks, but he was far better than I wanted him to be.

6. On the last drive they were saying Mahomes would destroy them. My buddy had to lay out the math for them and tell them Mahomes isn't getting the ball back. Even after the last time out, I think they thought Mahomes would get the ball back. But they started to believe as the clock ran down.

7. Then their souls left their bodies. I honestly felt bad for those 2. Not all Donk. **** Donk Forever. But those 2 dudes were great and got destroyed.

8. This is their Super Bowl. They said as much. They don't think they're making the playoffs (even after the loss, they're the 7 seed) and this is [was (LOL)] the highlight of their season.

9. They couldn't remember the record against Mahomes. My buddy reminded them, much to their dismay. LMAO. We really have beaten them down as a fanbase. The one guy said he was 33 and his brother close to that age. So they probably missed the Elway years, and all they have is the Manning run. I hadn't considered a Donk fan experience without Shanarat and Elway.

Shout out to those dudes, but seriously, **** Donk Forever.

Yeah the pass rush outside of blitzes has been pretty mediocre. The injuries obviously don't help but aside from some flashes from Turk and obviously Jones we're getting very little, and certainly did in that game.

Probably my most unpopular opinion is that as great as McDuffie is, and as lights out as he was at the start of the season, the last 2 or 3 games he's looked a tick off the pace.

Obviously Kingsley was a bin fire and the WRs outside of DHop have been pretty ineffective. The rest is just good players having a bad day at the office

I was glancing at the schedule and thought, shit I wonder when I mentioned scoring the same number of points in consecutive games and if I actually nailed it on the head.

But this thread was post-Broncos/pre-Bills and the Chiefs accomplished it weeks 13 and 14, winning by the exact same score of 19-17.

Oh well, carry on.

Defense was a pick, pressure, sack machine... sooo many different defensive players showed up loudly

CJ 95 didn't totally dog it, he swallowed up several runs and helped with pressure... but Karlaftis and Wharton did the heavy lifting

We need more from CJ, hopefully he's just saving something back for the playoffs

The secondary was balls out, taking full advantage of an easy mark

Spags will have these young jokas ready for the playoffs
