Parker-

Taking a great leap of faith:rolleyes:, I will assume that I am one of the "unnamed few" that are being referenced in your post.

I will be the first to say that I agree completely with the strategy to move these disputes to the petty disputes board. Hell, that is what you said you were going to do in the first place.

Why do you think I hijacked each and every thread that JD started? The whole purpose was to get the thread over to petty disputes. I didn't care if it was "RELEVENT" or not. Why? Because in my heart of hearts, I honestly believe that JD has some pretty severe mental problems.

There are a lot of folks on the Planet because JD got cozy with them on other sites, turned on them and then harassed them to no end for no apparent reason. Part of the Planet's appeal for these people was that it was a JD free zone. The Panet is a growing community, and as a growing community there is a constant influx of new posters, many of whom have no idea of his past. I think it would be pretty crappy for those people if JD blindsides them with his old tactics.

I was more than willing to completely ignore JD provided that he ignored me. I completely stayed out of the JD fray until he revealed his true colors once again. Once he did that, however, I didn't stop. I knew if I kept it up, he'd revert to his old tactics once again.

He didn't disappoint me.

To be quite honest, I don't give a rat's ass about JD one way or another simply because I'm careful to protect my anonymity on the internet and don't think he could do anything to me if he wanted to. Other people, however, may open up to him unknowingly giving him info that he can use against them if they ever cross him.

My sole purpose of highjacking his threads was to show that he hadn't changed one bit. I knew this whole "civil JD" thing was a ruse, and quite frankly, I thought he would keep the charade up at least another couple of weeks.

I haven't had any problems with any of the other posters on this board before, and I think that is pretty evident. I simply have no idea why you think it is a good idea to let JD post here given his past history. If people want to be buddy-buddy with him, fine. Let them put themselves at risk to his tactics on other Chiefs sites such as the Star or his own site. I just think it is foolish for you to allow the Planet to be an accomplice in his schemes.

A lot of people don't want him here. I've been one of the most vocal people on this issue, and one of the most proactive in that pursuit by highjacking his threads.

I don't apologize for that.

I am sure he is, my issue with him goes back to the girly thread when he seagull posted a bunch of BS and wanted to remove it irregarless of how many people wanted it and refused to engage me. He just wanted to use his power as a moderator. Later on down the road he posts a thread to rant about me and ask me to remove his name from my avatar which I did immediatly. He then refused to engage me once again. To me someone who would use their power over what was a huge majority of people that wanted it and didn't even have enough game to discuss it is weak beyond weak. Even Thomas will engage you occasionally. Then to post his problems with me and refuse to engage again being a moderator means this guy has no business having any power over anyone ever. This doesn't make him a bad guy mind you just a very weak one. If you say he is anice guy I totally believe you but there are a lot of nice guys I wouldn't give any power to. With that I will let dead dogs lie.

BIG DADDY

Continuing with his childish behavior.

BD,

Why would he want to engage you? You're a friggin hothead! :D

FE,

Check your smoke signals.

Grow up and use this board for what it was intended - entertainment.

I'll respond to the post because I am the one that asked for some kind of help. My smoke signals have been turned off because of a "petty arguement" between Phobia and me.

You may say that you aren't singling out anyone, but I seem to feel diferently about it. I asked for an email so we could communicate without waiting between posts. This could all be cleared up with a 3 minute phone call. I will call, or you can call. Send the email and I'll provide my number if you don't me to have yours.

I would like to note that over the past 3 months I have not even mentioned the "real fan" to Mr. Moderator #1 (Kloster) and he is still pissed about it.

For the rest of the Board. If I have sent you a smoke signal, ever, that was harassment, please let me know about it. That is what I've been accused of. I have sent smokes to the moderaters, Kloster in particular with an ongoing argument.

Freedom of Speech? On the planet.....YES, only if the mods don't get pissed off at you.

Quit being so sensitive dude, it's not all about you no matter what you think.

Parker,

Me, a hothead? http://mindscraps.com/s/contrib/ruinkai/rolleyea.gif

Actually that won't work either as I had yet to have an issue with anyone at that time if my memory serves me right. BTW, I emptied my mailbox.

BIG DADDY

With one more childish gesture. http://www.rocketsky.net/~mysmilies/otn/angry/tdo3.gif

This wasn't an issue until I asked for a one on one conversation with one, or more, of the moderators.

 I totally agree. And let me just say that I really appreciate you and the other mods continuing to be fair, even tho you not only have all that shit to put up with, but you do it on your own time. You guys handle these situations really well, and I'm just sorry that there have been SO MANY of these situations in the last few months or so!

LVNHACK 03-24-2003 01:03 PM

GODDAMNIT, Tom why don't you give this bullshit a friggin rest........ You are your own worst enemy......... Act your friggin age or go the fugg away..........

Being a 'Mod' is not something that denotes any kind of worthwhile power. I don't believe any of the Moderators here are small minded enough or have such a low self esteem that the title would rank high on a list of life's accomplishments :D

However, it is reasonable to want to know how and on what basis a Moderator approaches his responsibilities on this BB. Therefor, I will add the following to what htismaqe has already said...

The BB is not a democracy. I don't want to speak for the other two, but I think it is safe to say that we all generally feel like the less we need to intervene the better, even in situations that might personally involve us.

IMO, it would be impossible to list a comprehensive guideline of correct behavior ~ this is why it is left up to the discression of the Moderators. Consider it a benign dictatorship and you will come closer to a real understanding. If you enjoy playing here, then by all means do so. If not, then no one is forcing you to stay. If the direction of the BB (and the activity of the Moderators) is going according to Kyle's vision then there will be no changes. If not, then I am sure Kyle will change the Moderator(s).

None of us will ever understand everyone else, and unfortunately, personalities and ideologies will sometimes clash. All in all however, I think the Planet is a great place to be and I hope all of you feel the same.

Well said, Luz. I do disagree with one small portion, though. I believe that Kyle's vision is to make this community as much a democracy as is realistic. Hence the suggestions for improvements, the polls to ban unwanted members of the community, etc.

Phobia,

Agreed.

It is a technical difference perhaps, but that is certainly the 'benign' part of the equation.

thinking we're saying much the same thing...
