I dropped some heavy coin for four tickets to the game Sunday. My wife, brother, sister in law, and I.

Never been to a night game or a cold ass game. I hope the weather holds up Saturday. As not a mountain of snow.

bdj23 01-16-2019 12:27 AM

My drink of choice is rumpleminze.

So I'll likely swing by and say what's up with a bottle of that.

I was wearing shorts and a t shirt yesterday at 30°. Getting acclimated to upstate NY weather makes it feel almost warm.

Won't be the first time we had Canadians at our tailgate. No one is passing our in the back of our vehicle, though. :)

Opening of new Arrowhead with the Royals game before was nuts. I didn't even go to the Royals game and tailgated for 7 hours. Concession stands cut off beer sales at halftime.

Also Not at all familiar with the downtown .... I'm looking for a good comfortable hotel that I'll be not super far from Good BBQ and Good Beverages for Friday and Saturday days and nights ? Help me please !

You'll be paying out the wazoo to stay downtown. Especially with it being so close to game day. If there are any still available even.

Anyone flying out from Los Angeles/Orange County?

I was gonna stay at Harrahs NKC but last time I looked they wanted $400 for the night.

Yah, nah m8.

We live in Lawrence, so it isn't a bad drive home... but P&L might be a good time after the win.

Definitely. Living out here, I didn't want to buy $160 boots that I may never wear again (if I make it out there).

We are still gearing up. It's easier to smuggle things into the stadium that way.

luv 01-16-2019 03:16 PM

Will definitely have pictures of this tailgate. I definitely want to try to get one with as many CP members as I can at some point. Late enough that most people have gotten there, but early enough that anyone who wants to head in to the stadium early can.

Of course you're welcome to join us. Outside of KC, some of the best tailgating I've done was in Calgary and Regina, and this is no different. If anything, we need shot glasses, the plastic variety. I haven't seen that mentioned here yet. Bring what you want and are comfortable with, there will be plenty of food, so pitch in accordingly.

Oh, I'm definitely still bringing the arctic pants, just in case. You can't trust the weather people a day out, let alone four days out.

And I'll wear the new thermal socks regardless.

Yep, I jumped on Amazon last night after I saw your post and bought some heavy-duty thermal undies and one of those full face masks.

Money well spent if it keeps the arctic air out of here, I say.

Row one in the upper deck are some of the best seats in the house in terms of seeing the action.

I've seen a few decently priced pairs behind the end zones, including a row 1 pair that just went away... I know some people prefer that view to 50 yard line. I've only sat in the lower level endzone sections, which I wouldn't do for a game like this, or else risk watching all the big plays from the scoreboard on the other side of the field.

But, I'd think that view would still be pretty good from the upper deck, even when they're on the other end of the field.

I'm kind of bummed that I won't be able to make the pilgrimage for this game. Would be great to see you all, and I'm sure Arrowhead is gonna be insane.

Unfortunately, the wife probably won't let me get out of our trip to Cancun this weekend, so I'll be thinking of you guys in the cold while sitting in shorts and a t-shirt. :D

Unfortunately, not going to tailgate with my son this time around. We are getting to the stadium and just going in because I don't want him to get cold or have any issues.

I agree. Especially for hockey and football I prefer sitting in the upper deck to see everything. Midfield in the first few rows upperdeck is perfect IMHO.
