Percy Harvin trade rumors: Rick Spielman has 'no intent' to trade wide receiver

On Thursday, Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman once again said that he has "no intent" to trade wide receiver Percy Harvin. Spielman made the same statement in an interview on Feb. 15 and repeated himself several times on Thursday.

Great talent and the whole team cant be choir boys, but not worth the headache... pun intended.

ToxSocks 02-11-2015 03:06 PM

Bump because

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini believes the Jets will release Percy Harvin before March 19.
March 19 is important because if Harvin is on the roster, the Jets will owe the Seahawks a fourth-round pick. If he's not on the roster, the Jets will only have to send Seattle a sixth-rounder. Considering the Jets can wash their hands completely clean of Harvin's $10.5 million salary without a dead-money hit makes the decision even easier. Harvin is electric when healthy, so he'd be a highly-interesting player to track should he hit the market. And it sounds like he will.

Hard no.

February 13, 2013: "Harvin could be seeking Megatron/Fitzgerald money"
February 11, 2015: "Jets may release Harvin to avoid having to give up a 4th round pick."

Dude really blew his career with his antics.

Give him a deal similar in structure to Desean Jackson's deal with the Redskins - loaded with roster/workout bonuses to keep him incentivized.

As I said in another thread, time to roll the dice with character guys because the safe "right 53" mantra hasn't payed off at all.

Mother****erJones 02-11-2015 04:41 PM

I'm fine with it. This team needs to take some risks. The right 53 as mentioned before sucks. Teams that win have character issues.

Bam Morris, Andre Rison, Larry Johnson, Jovan Belcher.

What did those guys win for the Chiefs?

Mr. Laz 02-11-2015 05:20 PM

a guy that talented has to be a complete and utter douche to be unable to keep a job

Titty Meat 02-11-2015 05:50 PM

We already have Percy Harvin without the drama. His name is DAT.

Nightfyre 02-11-2015 07:18 PM

Yea, maybe you should wait til DAT breaks 200 yards receiving in a season before proclaiming him Percy Harvin.

tk13 02-11-2015 08:18 PM

The right 53 was about getting guys who actually liked playing football and weren't just doing it for a paycheck. Scott Pioli is terrible at his job but I don't understand how that phrase got mangled so badly over the years. The Patriots will literally do whatever it takes to win, and it's not like the Chiefs were a bunch of choir boys under Pioli. Vrabel was arrested, and the starting ILB murdered someone. The Patriots started someone at TE who is on trial for multiple murders. I never understood how all this Patriot Way stuff morphed into building a team of choir boys.

This. Every team tries to get the right 53.

Alex couldn't get Harvin the football anyway. Why pay that much for a guy he isn't going to use. We had that already with 14 million to Bowe and no touchdowns all season.

Just draft some prospects at wideout. This year is another deep draft for wide receivers, get a couple of those and we can waste rookie contract money on wide receivers that Alex cant/wont throw the football to.

Thinking the Chiefs could make him work is the same arrogance that makes a front office think they can make a starting QB out of some other team's backup.

he's never even had a SINGLE 1k yard season... he's a gadget player, nothing more. Chiefs already have a hard time using DAT. #1 receiver or bust, not another "weapon"

Deberg_1990 02-12-2015 07:14 AM

I would enjoy watching Harvin in Chiefs red for 5 games a year!

What the **** are you talking about?

one minute Alex can't throw it deep and all he does is dink and dunk

now you say he can dink and dunk?

you bitchy little idiot

Harvin is pretty much all dink/dunk

rtmike 02-12-2015 07:04 PM

Yeah, unfortunately I think A. Smith is the perfect QB for Harvin. Short passes so PH can do his thing in space since he can't run routes.
I don't think he's ever been used as a true WR running downfield fighting for the ball. :hmmm:
