bunt doesn't matter if you can't hit.

Come on for once get a hit.

kstater 10-05-2007 07:23 PM

So why did they take Damon out?

tk13 10-05-2007 07:23 PM

The Indians have had a bazillion chances, they gotta take advantage of one of them. Just a sac fly, anything.

He doesn't have a very strong throwing arm. Although it's gonna be tough to get Lofton on a fly ball anyway.

Thats what I was thinking. IF they somehow can get out of this(and I mean IF) wouldn't you want Damon? Lofton's in if it get into the outfield.

tk13 10-05-2007 07:27 PM

Popped it straight up. Now they need a base hit. On the bright side they've got Hafner up.

kstater 10-05-2007 07:29 PM

BIG cut

kstater 10-05-2007 07:31 PM

Someone needs to tell Hafner he doesn't need a home run

kstater 10-05-2007 07:32 PM

That's why you shouldn't walk the bases loaded on purpose.

Game.

tk13 10-05-2007 07:32 PM

Base hit. Indians win. Hafner's a beast.

Indians up 2-0.

Basileus777 10-05-2007 07:33 PM

Well, I'd rant and rave here, but I'm too disgusted by this ****.

eazyb81 10-05-2007 07:38 PM

Hilarious.

Inching closer to Cleveland vs. Colorado.

Go Tribe! Go Rockies!

Coach 10-05-2007 10:46 PM

Jesus Christ, what a crushing homerun by Manny Ramierz to end the game.

Deberg_1990 10-05-2007 11:01 PM

Is there anything more dramatic is Pro Sports than the game ending home run?? I think not.

HolmeZz 10-05-2007 11:29 PM

Granderson's pretty good in studio.

There is nothing. Walk off Home Rum tops it. Well, maybe a perfect game.

the Hail mary TD?

the buzzer beating shot for the win?

tk13 10-06-2007 04:02 PM

Cubs/D'backs getting ready to start on TBS. Cubs trying to avoid being elimated. Rockies/Phillies later on.

tk13 10-06-2007 04:08 PM

And Chris Young jacks the first pitch of the game into the bleachers. 1-0 Arizona.

Deberg_1990 10-06-2007 04:14 PM

TK, your avatar makes me itch....I hate it :)

Coach 10-06-2007 04:43 PM

Looks like the Cubs are playing like Dusty Baker wants them to play.

WilliamTheIrish 10-06-2007 05:27 PM

Still 2-0 Dbacks. Top 4.

WilliamTheIrish 10-06-2007 05:33 PM

Run scores on a bang bang! play at first as the Cubs tried to turn a DP.

3-0 Dbacks.

Coach 10-06-2007 06:20 PM

The Cobs load the bases with one out, and they naturally ends the inning with a double play.

tk13 10-06-2007 06:21 PM

That noise you heard was all the air being sucked out of Wrigley Field.

Coach 10-06-2007 06:27 PM

Well Ultra Peanut, there's always next year, again.

http://adweek.blogs.com/adfreak/images/cubs.jpg

Coach 10-06-2007 06:40 PM

Wow. There's a double play that wasn't committed by the Cubs.

Coach 10-06-2007 06:41 PM

Finally, the 2007 Chicago Cubs Motto for the Playoffs:

"Take strikes and swing at balls."

tk13 10-06-2007 06:49 PM

Another double play.

Only with the Cubs. Stephen Drew got hit in the pant leg with a pitch, but the ump missed it... so the next pitch he crushes one out of the ballpark. Cubs three outs from being done.

Excellent.

Deberg_1990 10-06-2007 07:30 PM

Cubs fans will be setting cars on fire tonight....

tk13 10-06-2007 07:30 PM

And the D'backs win. Series over. Probably fitting that the face of all that money spent, Soriano, made the last out.

But don't worry, Pinella is starting Zambrano tomorrow! :)

Frazod 10-06-2007 07:30 PM

And the Arizona sweep is complete.

At least they were swift and merciful.

tk13 10-06-2007 08:02 PM

Power outage at Coors Field.

Ultra Peanut 10-06-2007 10:21 PM

Tim: No matter how much you think you hate the Cubs, I hate them more.

Buck 10-06-2007 10:22 PM

**** you Burrell...Go Rockies.

Ultra Peanut 10-06-2007 10:52 PM

The Rockies are ****ing amazing. I hope they win it all.

tk13 10-06-2007 10:52 PM

The Colorado Rockies are going to the NLCS. Who woulda thunk it.

Buck 10-06-2007 10:53 PM

NL West, represent...If only my team had made it...

Anyways, Congrats to the D'Backs and the Rockies.

tk13 10-06-2007 10:55 PM

I like the Rockies' chances... but I like their young starters. Francis/Morales/Jimenez... with a good bullpen and great offense. They have a legit chance to make it to the series.

siberian khatru 10-06-2007 10:56 PM

17-1

kcxiv 10-06-2007 10:56 PM

I am a Dodger fan, but hell gotta represent the big west. Nice win by the Rock's.

They have won 17 of the last 18, they are coming back to earth anytime now. With any luck, this means the D-Backs go to the series! :)

tk13 10-08-2007 07:29 PM

The Indians just opened up a 6-1 lead on the Yankees in the 4th inning. Long way to go.

Frazod 10-08-2007 07:32 PM

Does anybody, anywhere, EVER, have a worse announcer voice than Tony Gwynn? Between the high pitch, the drawl and whatever speech impediment he has, his voice sounds like that of some made-up cartoon character.

I know the guy was a great player, but goddamn, get him out of the booth. :shake:

Nothing I like better than a Yankee a** stompin'. Hope it winds up 26-1.

This is great. But you are right, they could still come back in a hurry.

tk13 10-08-2007 07:39 PM

Yeah, Paul Byrd is walking the tightrope, but that's how he usually is I guess. Sometimes it's ugly, but he gets it done.

tk13 10-08-2007 08:18 PM

Here come the Yankees. Down 6-2, have two runners on in the 6th.

tk13 10-08-2007 08:20 PM

And a huge double play, Indians survive the inning. 6-2 Indians after 6 innings.

tk13 10-08-2007 08:37 PM

And Ronan Tynan brings the game to a screeching halt with his 25 minute rendition of God Bless America. One good thing about the Yankees being eliminated is we don't have to go through this every night.

Thank God the TV's off. Just one more reason to hate New York. Is there anybody who isn't a Yankmee fan that doesn't hate that fucking song now?

And that guy's voice is so grating he makes Ethel Merman sound like Karen Carpenter. :grr:

tk13 10-08-2007 08:43 PM

It's great that they want to sing it and all. They should do it before the game though. They take as long as humanly possible to perform it.

tk13 10-08-2007 08:46 PM

And A-Rod finally shows up. Solo homer, 6-3 Indians.

Frazod 10-08-2007 08:51 PM

Too bad there weren't men on base, he'd have struck out. All that talent, and come October he turns into Rey Ordonez. :D

WilliamTheIrish 10-08-2007 08:55 PM

Breathe, Cleveland. Breathe.

tk13 10-08-2007 08:59 PM

Haha, yeah, it feels like Cleveland is so close to coming off the rails almost every inning, but they keep hanging in there.

tk13 10-08-2007 09:21 PM

Betancourt mows down the Yankees in the 8th. To the 9th inning, Indians up by three.

kcxiv 10-08-2007 09:22 PM

Forgot this game was on. Got stuck on the Cowboys choking.

WilliamTheIrish 10-08-2007 09:25 PM

I'd let Bettancourt start the 9th.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-08-2007 09:30 PM

I hate that fat fuck Ronan Tynan and his bullshit icing routine.

GET THE fuck OUT!!! fuck :banghead:

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-08-2007 09:32 PM

I had a long argument with someone this year about A-Rod. I don't care about small sample size, the dude is a goddamned choke artist. You can't ignore what is right in front of your eyes.

He has the regular season ability of Larry Bird and the clutchness of Karl Malone.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-08-2007 09:33 PM

Having Joe Borowski close a series clinching game would make me about as comfortable as having my daughter go to Prom with Peter North.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-08-2007 09:36 PM

For what it's worth, you never, ever pitch your guys on 3 days rest unless it's an elimination game, IMO.

Wedge absolutely made the right decision, just like LaRussa did last year when he saved Carpenter for a prospective playoff game, which never happened. That allowed him to maximize Carp through the rest of the PS, and was a big reason why the Cards won the WS.

WilliamTheIrish 10-08-2007 09:36 PM

Borowski. That Mf'er.....

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-08-2007 09:37 PM

Once a Cub, always a Cub.

Borowski, I watched you do this shit all year on STO. You fucking suck.

tk13 10-08-2007 09:37 PM

Abreu hits one about 12 miles. 6-4 Indians. 1 out.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-08-2007 09:39 PM

You don't lay off that pitch with two strikes unless you're tentative.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-08-2007 09:39 PM

Pay-Rod comes through again ROFL

WilliamTheIrish 10-08-2007 09:39 PM

C;mon 'Ski. One more...

tk13 10-08-2007 09:39 PM

A-Rod pops out. 2 down.
