Too bad this game wasn't on TV to see, but it looks it was an impressive performance. Now Zero U can go back home and suck on 3rd place.

Does anyone have anythoughts about HC MA to Alabama?

I personally can't see any reason why he would leave the program in the state it is in for that B-Ball wasteland, but I guess you can't underestimate the power of your home state.

Choking makes it sound like they had a big lead or something... they never really showed up. ;)

With an Mizzou win, the game is pretty pointless... they'll just have to win at home against Texas to win the conference outright. And if they don't do that? Eh.

|Zach| 03-04-2009 10:14 PM

Congratulations to the seniors.

PastorMikH 03-04-2009 10:16 PM

Talked to several people here on Columbia this week that weren't giving MU any chance at all. I kept telling them that if MU ran, and could run OU into the ground, there was a good chance they could win. My cousin laughed when I told him that. My dad's sitting here right now saying, "I sure didn't think that would happen."

I don't live in the area anymore, but all my friends that are Mizzou fans are certainly on Anderson's bandwagon.

Dude should get a nice fat contract extension this offseason.

What I like most about Anderson, is that he runs a tight ship. Like with all the suspensions last year(or year before?). Its about keeping his players clean and on the right track, THEN winning. And that seems so foreign nowadays.

And I really thought it would take a few more YEARS for Anderson to get this team on track. I'm TOTALLY impressed...

He's impressed me ever since the first season. He's taken an embarrasing team and in just a few years has them off to their best start ever.

Yes. But, I also realize that we still win the Big 12 and it will HOPEFULLY wake this young team up before the tourney.

He has got MU in on a big-time recruit in Cousins too.

http://www.al.com/printer/printer.ss...540.xml&coll=3

As one of the country's top unsigned seniors, Cousins can now turn his attention to selecting a college. He initially committed to play for UAB coach Mike Davis, regardless of where Davis will be coaching next season, but he has since re-opened his recruiting.

He said he's now narrowed his choices to Memphis, North Carolina State, Missouri and Kansas State. He also said UAB is "out of the question," but Davis attended last week's game in Birmingham in what has to be a demonstration that he hasn't given up.

Cousins will play later this spring in two national all-star games — the Jordan Brand Classic in New York and the McDonald's All-American Game in Miami — and plans to take several official visits before the April signing period begins. He said he has not yet scheduled any visits.

Mosbonian 03-04-2009 10:50 PM

Interesting argument to be had...who is Coach of the Year in the Big 12? Mike Anderson or Bill Self?

Let's look at the preseason rankings?

2008-09 Big 12 Preseason Poll
See how the coaches think the league will turn out below:

Team Points
1 Oklahoma (3) 109
2 Texas (4) 107
3 Baylor (2) 103
Kansas (3) 103
5 Texas A&M 79
6 Oklahoma State 69
7 Missouri 51
8 Kansas State 50
9 Nebraska 49
10 Texas Tech 39
11 Iowa State 20
12 Colorado 13

Seems that no one predicted the rise of KU and MU.....

Heh, I didn't do anything but root them on.

Mizzou's for real, though. I'm convinced they can make a bit of noise in the tourney.

As for things in general, Anderson's got 'em on the right track.

Things are lookin' up.

mikeyis4dcats. 03-04-2009 11:03 PM

Anderson deserves COTY IMHO hands down.

justa question though, does Anderson get any of these strategic T's Self keeps getting? He really should try it if not...apparently it's a sign of brilliance.

Well, yeah.

Any Kansas coach is, by default, a basketball saint. He coaches on holy ground, you know.

So any actions taken by said saint should, and will be considered holy.

If not, you just don't understand.

Hit yourself five times in the head with a ball-peen hammer, wave the wheat five times, and call me in the morning.

We really played like crap at times. What was with us losing every 50-50 ball on our defensive rebounds? Was I the only one getting seriously aggravated at us missing chances to secure the ball off their missed shots?

No, you weren't.

No team ever plays a perfect game.

However, our team did just beat the #5 team in the country with the "national player of the year" back, healthy, and ready to make a statement.

I'll take it.

Just sayin'.
