A friend I know went to a town called Zinc, which I guess is known for clan activity (they wanted to see if they could see a real-live clan member...idiots).

Meh, small towns are good in a lot of ways. I grew up in a town of 1800. Didn't leave 'till I was 18.

It was more Dazed and Confused than Deliverance.

True enough, but it's pretty rare. I've seen a lot of trannys in Germany, and other places, and I can spot em in a heartbeat, but in Asia, Japn, etc, you could be about to hit the hottest shit you've ever seen,and end up with mr winky in your face.

The fear of the second is probably the biggest reason why someone would hide such a huge detail, but while I empathize with the people who do keep the secret past a certain point, I recognize how completely ****ing idiotic it is to do so. But do most transgender folks wish to complete the process, so to speak? I would assume this would be the natural inclination, no?

Basically, but with caveats. If it were a matter of snapping a finger or taking a pill and having everything be done, **** yes. But considering the cost, time, and potential complications if you have certain medical issues, it's not always a viable option, or at least not for a long time.

To me, it's something that would be nice but isn't going to define whether my life is a success or not. To other people (especially older transitioners, it seems), it's the be-all end-all. To others entirely, it's not something they even want.

I'm all for people doing whatever they want.

Its not my life. I like being a guy, but if I wanted to be a chick, fuck anyone telling me I'm wrong for doing so. I don't care if its due to a hormonal imbalance, psychological issues, or just feeling frisky.
