Speaking as a Mizzou fan?

If the seeds hold, it will be very tough for them to beat WVU or MSU.

Seriously? I don't think KU will have a problem at all with WVU, and MSU is the weakest 2 seed.

We'll see, I guess.

Aldrich is going to have to wake up, because these will be very physical games. I would think they'd rather matchup with someone who wants to run and push it.

tk13 03-15-2009 04:19 PM

Reaper16 03-15-2009 04:20 PM

Ooooh, we're Oklahoma. We don't have to do anything significant to get a 2 seed. Ooooooh.

Oh for ****'s sake. Memphis if we get to the SS?

This is ****ing terrible. Memphis is going to destroy MU if the Tigers get that far. **** Oklahoma.

DeezNutz 03-15-2009 04:22 PM

Worst possible Sweet Sixteen match up for MU.

Ultra Peanut 03-15-2009 04:22 PM

Utah State is an 11 seed. That is ****ing reeruned.

That's way more reeruned than actually matching up Memphis with a few good teams in UConn and Mizzou rather than letting the Tigers waltz to Detroit, no matter how much more I'm annoyed by that.

Conference tournaments don't matter, unless you're Louisville. Late-season games matter, unless you're UConn or Oklahoma. Okay, that's pretty inconsistent.

Reaper16 03-15-2009 04:22 PM

Its so ****ing nice to get rewarded for winning the conference tournament.

You guys are crazy. I think this is a decent draw for us.

I'll take Marquette in the 2nd round without their best player.

If they even make it that far. I think Mizzou's got a good draw to the Sweet 16. But they'll have trouble with Memphis. You might be better off hoping Maryland makes a run.

I would predict that UConn gets knocked off before the regional final without Dyson, but Jesus Christ that's a dire bunch on their side of the bracket. Purdue maybe has a shot.

Memphis, Michigan State, Oklahoma, ****ing Puke and we get cock****ing Memphis if we make it that far.

Why couldn't we get Puke in the SS if we were a 3?

Has Duke ever played a 1st round game outside North Carolina? Jesus.

tk13 03-15-2009 04:30 PM

The most interesting matchup for Pitt might be in that 2nd round. Oklahoma State and Tennessee could either bomb out or play out of their mind and give them a game if Pitt's offense disappears.

Memphis, Pitt, and Louisville are the three worst possible matchups for us. It's a combination of that, going to Boise, and Oklahoma getting a 2 seed when they've done nothing.

Look at both sides of it though.

We have one of the easiest mini-brackets to get to the Sweet Sixteen.

Our first game is against Cornell - they lose to Indiana by double digits. They are AWFUL.

Marquette lost their best player and have been awful ever since.

kstater 03-15-2009 04:34 PM

Yeah, but any of the other 2 seeds would have been infinitely preferable to Memphis.

There's really no explanation for it. Obviously the committee lessened the losses to KU and UT because of Griffin being out, and OU has a very high RPI. I think it all comes down to having the best player in the country though.

I agree with you, however had MU been there? People would be shitting over our 2nd round draw. Just my opinion but it all is what it is. Time to play...beat the teams we should beat and go out and surprise some folks with wins over elite teams.

I think we can beat some elite teams, I don't think we can beat teams like Memphis that have redonkulous athleticism and can eviscerate our press.
