Billy let the ball hit your gut so we can get baserunners. Just stop sucking in.

DeezNutz 04-10-2009 04:42 PM

Petite is ****ing 47 and we're making him look like a Cy Young candidate.

DeezNutz 04-10-2009 04:43 PM

You popped it up, Billlllaay.

Mama Hip Rockets 04-10-2009 04:43 PM

Jacobs patiently awaits his opportunity to strike out.

Jenson71 04-10-2009 04:44 PM

When I see Jacobs, I think a young, stronger Eddie Murray.

Jacobs is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Reaper16 04-10-2009 04:45 PM

I'm reasonably sure that I would be able to lay off that pitch.

Jenson71 04-10-2009 04:46 PM

Jacobs with the rare strikeout. Can't hit a homer everytime I guess.

DeezNutz 04-10-2009 04:46 PM

Our Cialis offense continues to impress.

leo nunez is much better than mike jacobs.

he can probably hit better too.

I'm prepared to pinch hit Greinke.

Blankey 04-10-2009 04:47 PM

Our only run came on a fluke play lol

Jenson71 04-10-2009 04:47 PM

We got Olivio and Callapso up next inning so we're sitting pretty good still.

Let's go Farnsworth. Keep redeeming!!

Jenson71 04-10-2009 04:48 PM

No more Farnsworth? :( Alright, Wright's excellent as well.

Jenson71 04-10-2009 04:49 PM

Our pitching is pretty straight. We need George Brett to come back. Or Ken Harvey.

petegz28 04-10-2009 04:50 PM

We look like total ass-stink at the plate.

But, unfortunately, this means we have to bat.

I predict a 3 up and 3 down for the royals

DeezNutz 04-10-2009 04:57 PM

Ok. Let's get the lead-off man on.

Must get base runners.

Olivo not the best approach.

DeezNutz 04-10-2009 04:58 PM

base hit or ball 4, right here.

Edit: same shit.

Nah. The Tyler Thigpen of baseball offense would score like 4 to five runs in the first 4 innings by way of slap singles and fly balls to no-man's land that OF can't get to. But then it would do nothing but strike out in innings 5-9.

Reaper16 04-10-2009 05:14 PM

Greinke would have thrown a perfect game today with this strike zone.

Mama Hip Rockets 04-10-2009 05:15 PM

man this umpire sucks.

Reaper16 04-10-2009 05:17 PM

Inspired offensive effort.

These guys have played Sabathia pretty good in recent history. Hopefully the bats will awaken tomorrow. Lord knows they'll need them with HoRam on the mound.

Mecca 04-10-2009 05:19 PM

So what is that 7 runs in 4 games?

Well that was a suckfest. Way to erase any good feelings this city had about the team Dayton Moore.

1 down 2 to go. If the Royals make Andy P look that good, then I can't even imagine how they will make CC look tomorrow. Looking forward to it. And that ump was TERRIBLE.

Well, no it wasn't a good game. It wasn't an atrocious game, either. Its not the kind of game to make me lose all confidence in Dayton Moore. I'm also not about to say that Gordon and Butler can't progress this season based on the 1st four games of the season in chilly weather.

As the great oft defender of all things Royals I have to ask....... how can everyone on this planet and a few others know exactly what is going to happen when you parade Sidney Ponson/Kyle Farnsworth to the mound, except team management? No really, how? I'd like to know.

Yes they pitched "well enough" to technically keep us in the game... but did anyone really believe we were going to get to Petitte/Rivera once it was 4-1... or even 2-0? As cold as the bats have started after a very hot hitting spring training... did ANYONE really think a comeback was happening? Did anyone really think the Yankee scoring might be over at 4 with our chosen pitchers?

At least we (you) didn't dedicate millions of dollars of your own hard earned money to renovations that have made the K absolutley incredible, just to have team management almost seem to go out of their way to trot a couple of the leagues worst pitchers out against the powerful Yankees to re-open it. No, that would have been a shame.

Good. It was meant as more of a blanket statement about him in general but I am glad he pitched well today. I would love for him to shut us all up. No one wants the Royals to win more than I do.

and thats the only way this franchise will ever be able to compete for anything.

I unfortunately have plunked down the dollars. Ohh well another season another losing record.

sportsman1 04-10-2009 06:02 PM

Honestly its too early to worry about it, and say the seasons over. Tomorrow or next week we could start putting up 12 runs a game. I do know that the pitching seems to be solid enough to stave it off for a little while (exceptions being Farnsworth on Opening Day, and HoRam in the Rotation). Spring Training showed a lot of positives offensively. Jacobs showed some power, and several people (Teahan) had high averages.

They have big bat potential in Gordon and Butler... Jacobs did hit 32 homers last year, he'll get it going. The players who have the ability just have to get it done. I'm more concerned about rounding out the starting rotation with a couple good pitchers than I am about the offense. A lot of teams have started weakly in the cold so far. I think the bats will be ok, hopefully sooner rather than later.

i mentioned earlier than there are not many teams in the league with superior 4 and 5 starters anymore. The game is just not played that way anymore.

All in all, Ponson gave the Royals about all they could ask for today.

The BATS are whats wrong with this team.
