For the record: Craig James didn’t get Mike Leach fired. Neither did his son or ESPN or anyone else on the periphery of Texas Tech’s football program.

He won, graduated his players, didn’t attract the attention of the NCAA and still managed to generate controversy. In short, he was a lot like a basketball coach Tech once employed.
The difference between Leach’s situation and Bob Knight’s was that Gerald Myers liked Knight.

Dallas morning news just released emails from those at TTU claiming they planned to fire him at the end of the season back in March. There is more to the story than what the biased national media is reporting.

As an employer for 28 years, I agree that it is seldom 1 act that gets you fired, but more often a series of acts. And the final act is not so much a serious "crime", but the final straw or an act that we employers think will stand up in court as a terminatable offense.

Perry is also a nobody on the team. KCBD in Lubbock is reporting that there were players that wanted to sit out the bowl game in protest. Regardless.. I"m done with the soap Oprah for the night. Headed to SA in the morning.

It's ludicrous to fire any coach over circumstances like this. The kid is obviously an underacheiver, and it was reported that he had shown contempt for the coaching staff in the past, telling them that they didn't know "how to coach". His being segregated is the lightest punishment I think could be doled out, and it was only after he whined about the sunlight bothering him that it was done.

The kid is a pussy straight up. Everyone wants more playing time. The way to go about getting more is to work harder, not to sulk and complain to his daddy. Leach was doing something for him that his father apparently never did. Try to make a man of him, and make him accountable for his own actions.
