Anyone got any pics they want to post?

I'd planned on taking my camera to the Vikings game, since we were considering that the "official" tailgate. You'd better believe I'm taking it on Halloween, too!

Good to meet you too. I'm sure that there will be other times to chat at Wizards as well. Yeah, the drive back sucked. Just south of Durant, some guy was crossing the highway and I hit him. Turns out it was just my right side mirror that hit him, but when I first saw him, he was front and to the left of me. WTF was he doing out there? He is going to be ok and missed death by a couple of inches.

Oh, who was the guy that was doing the old man rap to rundmc with me? That was pretty funny, thanks for playing!

Tailgating firsts: I was actually asked to turn down my music at one point...hehehe.

That came from my crew, TBH. They're more used to being able to sit around, play games, and talk. They're not used to having to try to talk over music. They didn't mind it once it was turned down though.

I will report any long term trauma after we see them again at the family xmas party.

Also, please have a taste of the Boulevard Nommo Dubbel and let me know what you think. I was really impressed.

You know I had to bring it up. The funny part is that I only nudged it down a very miniscule amount and that seemed to be fine. :-)

BTW, the next tailgate was what we had originally decided as being the official CP tailgate. I expect to see people there! If not then, then definitely the MNF game. Let's hear it. Who's going to be there?

I am sorry but count me out for this one. I cannot in good judgment spend money on this at the moment. I was hesitating because I haven't been home for any discernable time since late June as some of you know. After today I'm done til next year, so that most likey means that SNF and MNF are out as well. I just can't do this. I can look at my empty seats on TV and know that I have done what I can to make a statement regarding this ridiculous display today. This is beyond embarrassing.....there is absolutely no excuse.

Completely understandable, especially with coming up from as far as you do. I doubt tickets would be easy to sell, so we'll be there, especially since it's just a day trip for us.

If you're willing to donate a pair of tickets to a game, I'll gladly go and wear a bag on my head. MNF maybe?

Oh, and SNF is out anyway. We'll be flexed out of that game.

I'll be at the vikings game. No bag on my head.

Bearcat 09-18-2011 04:01 PM

I posted all of my tickets on stubhub... if anyone wants a single lower level/goal line ticket to the Vikings, Chargers, Broncos, or Packers, PM me.

I thought about posting them all last week, but didn't want to overreact... stupid me.

You're still welcome to park the van out there. We don't have the music, but we've got the grill space, and hopefully a few Planeteers.

I know, and I'm pretty pissed about this, but it's really hard to justify the expenses of a trip from Texas 4-5 times a year for a team that most likely win half or less of those games. :harumph:

I need to sell the tix as Plan A, but if that doesn't work, I'll let you and/or OTW have first crack at them as a Plan B. :) I would rather have Chiefs fans in those seats.

I'm in the same boat. The whole weekend around the game is great and I think September is the best time to come up to KC for a visit but the way the team sucks right now. Not worth it. Definately coming up next year though and if they are playing well I might come up twice.

Tailgating is worth heading to Arrowhead by itself. Go tailgate and then go play mini-golf or catch a movie at noon.

It's too bad that the Chiefs have to suck. I always have fun tailgating, but it's always more fun when there's more people to meet and talk to.

Bearcat 09-27-2011 08:21 AM

I was debating on whether I wanted to go this weekend, but someone bought my ticket last night, so I'm out.

I thought about going just for the tailgate, and the possibility of seeing a win, but 1) two 0-3 teams whose QBs are 30th and 31st in the NFL in yardage just doesn't seem worth it, and 2) I can basically use the ~$120 saved on the ticket/parking for the round-trip to Omaha & tickets to two hockey games, and still have ~$30 left over for food.

luv 09-27-2011 10:10 AM

Well, we are slowly dwindling. Glad we had a great group to start the year!

I'm thinking we can unsticky the thread. Just a reminder to everyone that we will be there nearly every game (not sure about Christmas Eve right now). Anyone is welcome to stop by and borrow the grill, BYOB and hang out awhile.

Apparently dad has quite a few friends coming. He said they're expecting 40 people at the tailgate this weekend. Maybe because it's one of very few games people feel we have a halfway decent shot at actually winning.

I'm going to be in town this weekend with a buddy, and we may be looking for a tailgate. If we are, can we glom onto a CP tailgate? Warning - my buddy will be in Purple...

Bring what you can. If you don't have anything that you can bring, there's plenty, trust me. I believe Mr. Flopnuts said he'd be stopping by with a Vikings friend, and I believe Bugeater is bringing two with him. Pretty sure there might be a few in our group that might be in Vikings jerseys as well.

Awesome, thanks! We're staying in a hotel, and doubt we'll have a fridge, so it could be a bit tricky. If we were to bring something that we could pick up locally, what would you suggest?

I assume it's BYOB?

I see the listing on location at the top of this thread, but how do we identify the exact group? Pretty obvious once we're there?

Is there anything at all we could bring? This will be my first Arrowhead tailgate, so not sure what all people bring to these things, and I'd hate to be a total mooch. I'd be glad to chip in some funds, if that's better...

Whatever you want to do is fine. I'll be wearing my LUV jersey, #76. If you can't find me, the people I go with are used to people coming up and asking for "luv"...lol.

Last time, a member of our tailgate crew (not on CP) was trying to get my attention. He called my name a few times, but I didn't answer. The first time he said luv, I turned around. All day after that, he talked to me in a British accent and called me luv.

Speaking of MNF, I've changed my mind and will be there. I'm over the butthurt from Opening Day and am leaving Taiwan tomorrow and really need to get in some quality tailgating. :D

I'm assuming they'll open the gates around 3-3:30, so pre-tailgating will start around Noonish at the gate? :toast:

Also, I'm thinking of parking the Command Center on the west side in the grass vs. on the east side so those blaring speakers don't offend this time. Those crazy kids and their rock 'n roll music..... :p

I'll be in town for this one as well. Thanks for the invite! It's been a couple of years since I've been able to attend and I'm TOTALLY stocked! Looking forward to seeing some of the old faces and meeting new ones...

Just say the name "luv" and I'll know who you are and you can have as many as you want.

We are making a MNF beer bong today. I'll post pics how it turns out.

So if we say the name "luv" we get unlimited jello shots too, correct? ;)

I'll have the keg on the Command Center, so there will be plenty of beer for the bong. :toast:

No kids at this one with us, so the music probably won't be a big deal.

Although...

At my dad's surprise party Saturday night, they turned the volume up on the World Series game, and someone asked them to turn it down because you could hardly hear the other person talking. That person was someone we tailgate with. Heh.

Ok, I'll bring the NASCAR earplugs just in case. :D

I'm really excited about this game....can't wait!!

Still haven't decided on menu yet, but there's still time. Will definitely do the jalapeno poppers, but wanted to make something to go with them. We had those last year for the Chargers game, so I don't want to mess with success.

I haven't heard our menu yet either. I would assume Jambalaya and eggs. It's a staple.
