You know what I'm starting to think?

That the stink of Greg Robinson lurks with defenses for years after he's gone.

God damn Michigan.... WTF?

I don't think he's the next Lloyd Carr. But at the same time it does have something to do with Lloyd Carr. He's Carr's hand-picked guy. And that's the primary reason I'm wary about the hire. Carr is like the freaking plague. I don't want his fingers touching anything. Which unfortunately is never going to happen. He sees himself as the heir to Bo Schembechler and there isn't anybody in the athletic department who'll tell him otherwise.

As far as this game goes, I'll say what I said earlier. It's a mirage. They got dominated basically the entire game by a pitiful Notre Dame team. But I also wouldn't hold that against a first year coach. He has to have time to build his team, and Michigan hasn't had real defensive talent for almost 6 years.

But hey, I'll take a win over the Golden Gomers any freaking way I can get it. I wish they'd gotten a TD at the end to salt the wound.

The Franchise 09-10-2011 09:43 PM

Fire Brian Kelly.

I'm not saying it wasn't entertaining. But in a "who is going to find a way to lose this game" kind of way.

I'd much prefer to watch two very good teams that are playing well in a competitive game.

This. Teams making plays back and forth is excellent. Two teams ****ing up and keeping it close is good, but far from great.

Maybe if they showed 15 games a year on NBC I'd hate them as much.

Although it's close with Nebraska.

Funny thing is, I was talking to a friend today about how people root for conferences, and I just don't get it. See it with SEC fans and a good many Big 12 fans locally. But I don't give a flying **** if the Big 10 is any good or not. I only root for Michigan. Iowa losing today? Shrug. Ohio State blowing that game to Toledo would've made my year.

That's basically how it is for me. I don't root for the rest of the conference. I don't take any pride in another Big 10 team doing anything. Most of the schools get apathy at the best (Iowa, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue), but some of them I wouldn't piss on if they were burning (Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State, and now Nebraska). I hated seeing Ohio State winning a championship.

On an unrelated note, I got a bad feeling about the game tomorrow. Good things don't usually happen for me twice in a weekend.

I'm the same way. I root for Mizzou. I play nice, because I don't want to be a dick, or a troll. But really, all I give a shit about is my team. I root against all the rest of them. And if it's a conference game, I root for the team lower in the standings... to improve Mizzou's position.

Same thing goes for the NFL and the AFC West.

Wouldn't you feel more pride in Michigan if they were the best in an elite conference? I would. That's why I hope Penn State beats Alabama and so on.

SEC fans do this the most, Big10 fans rarely do it, Big8,12,11,10 fans do it some but not as much as the SEC. Somtimes h8n is good!
