I do believe JB is NFL ready. I don't think he even looks to the sideline ref to see if he's lined up on side.

Three7s 01-02-2012 08:56 PM

I know not much game has been played, but Case Keenum has looked better than Luck, and he played a Penn State secondary that is near top 5 in the BCS in yards given up. Luck will have success in the NFL, but he's not going to just zing it all over the field like Peyton or Brady.

Saul Good 01-02-2012 08:56 PM

The Chiefs need another WR whose name starts with "B".

Mr_Tomahawk 01-02-2012 08:56 PM

Saul Good 01-02-2012 08:59 PM

If he's there when the Chiefs pick, do you have to take him?

I've been wondering that too. If you franchise Bowe, I think it's a good play to get Blackmon and trade away Bowe.

tk13 01-02-2012 09:01 PM

Look, he was open by 15 yards! That in no way was an NFL throw.

Why not keep all 3?

That was a beautiful, NFL throw by Luck, BTW.

Nice throw Luck.

That would be a tremendous waste to keep three big first round receivers on the same roster.

If the Chiefs go with Blackmon, I'd rather get the value for Bowe. With a low first or early second, at least you can get a quality pick out of it rather than a guy who spends all his time on the bench.

Then again, I'm not overly pleased right now with the Baldwin pick. But unlike Bowe, there's nothing the Chiefs can do with Baldwin.

We'll see how "NFL ready" Luck's knee is here as he genuflects to end the half.

I don't think it would be a waste. Football is about creating mismatches. If Bowe, Baldwin, and Blackmon were all on the field together, there's no nickel in the league that can match up. The Rams and Vikings are a couple of teams that come to mind that had 3 stud WRs at the same time.

It worked for the Niners, let's just hire Stanford's coach to lead the Chiefs.

We essentially do that already with Moeaki. The difference is that Moeaki has the versatility to also be a major player in blocking packages. Three big receivers only encourages a defense to go with a big defensive package and gun for stopping the pass.

If I have 3 receivers, I want one to at least be a guy who can really stretch the field. Our receivers are fast for big receivers, but they don't match a guy like Breaston.

Halftime. I said true about almost everyone thinking Luck is NFL ready. I'd say 1% don't think he is.

He may have the most unathletic WRs of any QB playing in a bowl game. If he's hitting receivers who are open, it's because he's recognizing the matchups better than other QBs. He certainly doesn't have a bunch of weapons making him look better.

kstater 01-02-2012 10:09 PM

That was not an NFL caliber hand off.

Ok State coach panicked and decided to get cute and throw the ball. Lost 4 points.

tredadda 01-02-2012 10:17 PM

What I don't get is how a perfect pass to an open receiver is any different than one to a covered one. A perfect pass is a perfect pass. Hitting a receiver in the hands is the same regardless of whether he is open by 5 yards or draped by the defender.

stonedstooge 01-02-2012 10:17 PM

tk13 01-02-2012 10:20 PM

I hate it when they do that. You have the best QB in college football and you do that.

-King- 01-02-2012 10:20 PM

NFL caliber QB would have lined up at WR better.

tk13 01-02-2012 10:20 PM

When I become coach of the Chiefs, I'm going to put Bowe at LT and Albert at WR. That will totally fool John Fox.

Saul Good 01-02-2012 10:21 PM

Simplicity 01-02-2012 10:24 PM

THIS is totally off topic but I do not have the power to make a thread
If someone could make a thread to discuss a possible ChiefsPlanet youtube channel, I will be thankful. I can set up the channel, make a amazing background and display picture.
The channel can be used to post everything Chiefs by all CPers. Ofcourse me (because I made the channel) and all the other mods will be in charge of the channel. If a CPer wants a video posted. Send the video to a MOD and thus we can get it up.
ALSO, think of this. If we get atleast 3k subs, we could apply for a YT partnership. THUS we get paid for posting videos.
--If this ever happens, we could use the money to donate to the site and some local KC charities.
Haters gonna hate.
