I'd love to have Manning, but I'm thinking I'd love to have RGIII more.

Manning going to Washington or Miami helps make that possible. We just need the damn Browns to make a splash about a quarterback.

After all of this build up, this fan base is going to go totally apeshit if something big doesn't happen at QB this offseason. All I know is, after thousands of daydreams of PM or RG3 leading our offense next year, Matt Cassel is going to throw me into an instant seizure.

O.city 03-06-2012 06:46 PM

Miami is rebuilding their defense if I remember correctly.

I can't see why he would want to have to beat Brady twice to get into the playoffs. But it is warm weather, and they are probably willing to pay.

I'd love to have the guy if we can get him, but I don't tknow whats going down.

Washington? Seriously. **** em. No way Peyton goes there. There are one of the most dysfunctional organizations in the league. They are the team that injured him, and plus Peyton won't play in the same division as his bro.

Miami just hired Philbin and Sherman, so Im seeing strong connections between Tannehill and Flynn. Both guys respectively have a considerable amount of knowledge about both quarterbacks. But then Ross seems infatuated with Manning, so ownership can easily overrule the input about what both coaches say about Tannehill and Flynn. And in the end thats all that matters. but here is the thing this ****ing media ppl need to consider, the Dolphins don't have the cap space. How the **** are they going to sign
Peyton?

Arizona may be possible? Larry Fitzgerald and Manning that would be ****ing sick. Plus, they are a team with a defense on the rise. But then, Whisenhunt has his own system there, and if you sign Peyton, he brings in his system. I don't see Whisenhunt scrapping his offense for Peyton Manning.

The Jets? Peyton and Rex? No way. Two big heads like that. That would be like the Hatfields and the McCoys. No ****ing way he goes there.

Seattle? Maybe. They could be a darkhorse.

Chiefs are the most realistic option. Good defense, good running game. Most cap space. They could allow Manning to bring in his own system. They have the receivers on offense. A good defensive minded coach who can allow Manning to do his things much like Dungy did with him in Indy. Peyton has to look at the chiefs and admit they look attractive. Chiefs give Manning flexibility, the freedom to do what he wants, and the best all round team around him. The only people who could screw this up, is ownership and Pioli . If they are passive in their approach in pursuing Manning then **** those motherfuckers for real.

yep, even more importantly it doesn't require any football savvy or skill.

Manning is drafted, trained and already football proven.

arrowheadnation 03-06-2012 07:05 PM

Go to espn.com home page. The only two teams with a "high" likelihood of Manning landing with their team are Miami and KC.

CaliforniaChief 03-06-2012 07:05 PM

This from Paul Kuharsky:

Who will those suitors be?

We’ve heard the same several teams listed: Miami, Washington, Arizona, the Jets, Kansas City. Others could surface now that Manning as a free agent will become a reality. Some will stay on the fringe, awaiting indication on his health.

Agreed, but primarily for the first reason. Players only go to Washington for the money. They don't go for football. That's the problem with an owner like Snyder. See Haynesworth, Albert.

I don't know anything about cap space, but I think the Dolphins have less of a chance of winning than the Chiefs, and I think Manning is competitive enough that his decision will be based more on that than stuff like weather or money.

Good competitive team, but I agree with your reason. X and O guys don't play for Rex Ryan. Guys who are borderline out of control play for Rex Ryan. Manning won't want to end his career on that note.

Manning has to be looking at the Chiefs as a great opportunity. Weak division, went to the playoffs last year with Cassel, and almost made the playoffs this year with more knee injuries than Gale Sayers and Billy Sims combined. You've got a 6+ ypc running back, a 1,200 yard receiver for Matt Cassel, a first-round rookie entering his second year, and Breaston playing the slot. Then add in a good defense and a football town that brings it to the stadium. I honestly think we're his best chance to get back to the Super Bowl, and he knows that he can come here and own the town. That's not going to happen in a Miami or a New York or an Arizona.

Going from a 50-1 down to a 4-1 takes some legit information to force that much of a swing.

We have the money and roster to compete and the AFCW would be nearly a guaranteed playoff spot each year he would play for us.

Report: Dolphins believe they have “good chance” to sign Manning

Posted by Evan Silva on March 6, 2012, 7:34 PM EST

Citing a team source, the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins are “very confident” that they have a “good chance” to sign soon-to-be free agent quarterback Peyton Manning.

This assumes Manning can pass medical exams, of course.

Per the Herald‘s Armando Salguero, the Dolphins’ front office has been discussing its impending pursuit of Manning with “the Manning camp” for the past three weeks.

Appearing on NFL Network on Tuesday evening, Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post also confirmed the Dolphins will “absolutely” go hard after Manning.

“They think they might be the leaders of the pack at this point,” Volin said

Per the Herald‘s Armando Salguero, the Dolphins’ front office has been discussing its impending pursuit of Manning with “the Manning camp” for the past three weeks.

Appearing on NFL Network on Tuesday evening, Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post also confirmed the Dolphins will “absolutely” go hard after Manning.

“They think they might be the leaders of the pack at this point,” Volin said[/QI
