The Franchise 03-06-2013 08:06 PM

I'd pick up Geoff Schwartz to play LG.

The Bad Guy 03-06-2013 08:06 PM

I think Jeff Allen will be the RT

HotCarl 03-06-2013 08:07 PM

So now we have no one at RT, and someone at LT who is almost 30 and may or may not have back problems, and will cost the average of the top 5 salaries in the league at his position.

I'm still in favor of trading back, but all signs point to Joeckel at 1.

RT you have to be athletic.

Only Stephenson or Fisher.

Matt Miller ‏@nfldraftscout

No insider info here, but I'd keep an eye on Tamba Hali if the #Chiefs go on a cutting spree.

This ****ing guy

YayMike 03-06-2013 08:09 PM

Maybe its just me...but i dont think this has any effect on the #1 overall pick. Hopefully they did save more than 700K with this move to allow us to spend in FA.

Next up: Mark Castle.

I certainly won't miss the penalties. Seems like all I remember, significantly, are nice runs to the right, no protection, and penalties! Winston and Asamoah, illegal procedure, 4-5 times a game.

AustinChief 03-06-2013 08:10 PM

ok, the more I think about this the more I'm convinced that either A) we have some hidden superstar RT on our roster already (unlikely) or B) Reid is going after one of the absolute TOP RTs available just like he did when he signed Runyan.

Andre Smith?

I could see this too. They could have looked at the game film, and thought, they've got this 2nd round pick playing out of position.

What is wrong with him....

Meatloaf 03-06-2013 08:10 PM

I'm like seeing the moves that Dorsey/Reid are making. They just aren't sitting around waiting for the next leaf from the Tree fall. They appear to be dictating their squad, not just waiting years and years to slowly mold the team they want. I like the apparent sense of urgency. It's been rare of late.

ILChief 03-06-2013 08:10 PM

No more moves before Tuesday:

@ChiefsInsider: Don't be shocked to see former #chiefs RT Eric Winston go back to the #Texans! Tip of the iceberg more moves in KC to come before Tuesday!

Next up: Mark Castle.

Winston was cut because of injury. They are not gonna cut Hali.

RT next season will either be Stephenson or Fisher.

O.city 03-06-2013 08:11 PM

Allens skillset seems to be a better fit at tackle anyway. IMO, he's not fit to play G.

Titty Meat 03-06-2013 08:12 PM

It was reported teams were asking players if they were gay so there's that.

Atleast the Chiefs have a Monopoly of Pioli draft picks at guard who can play right tackle.

Hammock Parties 03-06-2013 08:12 PM

Gonna go ahead and call it. We're gonna sign Winston Justice or King Dunlap

OK, I know we have pretty low standards around here...

BradBigglestein 03-06-2013 08:13 PM

Andy Reid didn't like Justice or Dunlap all that much. I doubt it. Dunlap is just plain bad. Reid values offensive lines. I'm sure he has a solid plan there.

The Bad Guy 03-06-2013 08:13 PM

The chiefs would not stay with the 3-4 if they were going to cut Hali.

Of course they aren't going to cut Hali. I think Allen or Stephenson will be a serviceable RT. What i meant was i really don't see the loss of Winston as the end of the world. Injury or not.

I just want Cassel off the team as soon as possible because i hate his guts.

O.city 03-06-2013 08:15 PM

Shit with his injury problems, maybe they are going to bring in Jake Long and move him to RT?

Nope, I think he goes BIG TIME and pursues one of the best. Looking at Andre Smith, Jake Long (not likely), Loadholt, Vollmer or Cherilus.

More good news from the AR/Dorsey regime. I never liked the acquisition of Winston and his play and attitude proved he wasn't a good fit. Build a winner! Oh yeah, send cassie to the vikes please.

I already said this! Reid's first big (and best) free agent move with Philly was to sign Jon Runyan at RT. Which leads me to think Long or Smith...

OH WAIT!
We could sign Andre Smith and then draft Geno Smith!

Meatloaf 03-06-2013 08:18 PM

Worry not, Cassel is as good as gone. They're just waiting to get something suitable in return.......like ummmmm, a........ummmmmm...... Ok, just cut him.

Hoover 03-06-2013 08:19 PM

I'm willing to sit back and give Reid and Dorsey some space to see what they do. I'm intrigued.

Halfcan 03-06-2013 08:19 PM

LeVitre Vollmer and Fisher would be nice additions!!

RunKC 03-06-2013 08:19 PM

It appears that Andy Reid is really wants this OL to be as good as it possibly can after seeing how it absolutely ruined his team in Philly the last 2 years.

DaFace 03-06-2013 08:19 PM

Sam Mellinger ‏@mellinger
For what it's worth, @PFF ranked Eric Winston 26th among 57 tackles to play at least half the snaps. Interestingly, Branden Albert was 25th.

O.city 03-06-2013 08:19 PM

If they wanted to pay big money to have Albert at LT and Long at RT, would anyone be pissed?

Yep I agree. and once this happens, it should put to rest all the stupid ****ing rumors of taking Yokel or any tackle 1 overall.

KChiefs1 03-06-2013 08:20 PM

I'd like to see the Chiefs draft Warmack.

HotCarl 03-06-2013 08:21 PM

They are making a major commitment to this Alex Smith thing, if Winston isn't good enough. He wasn't as good as advertised, but he was far from a problem, and it's not a money issue. Winston wasn't any worse than Albert was. They obviously think the whole offense needs to be scrapped outside Bowe and Charles and I don't disagree.
