No...it's not. It's a 1 year deal if Chase wants to void it.

I realize the Chiefs haven't had that success in 40+ years, but I'd rather build my team differently where they can rip off 2 or 3 SBs or SB appearances in a 4-5 year span (see: ur mom).

Let him win the spot. He doesn't have to be given any damn thing.

Alex Smith was brought in to be our veteran QB that happened to have a 70% completion rate and a 104 QB rating last year. Daniels was brought in for camp competition as a back up QB on a one year contract. What an opportunity for him to compete for a starting job against Alex who has only completed two full seasons in his position. This is a perfect situation to bring in a QB of the future now that you have your two QB's established already. Alex Smith if he fails is the perfect QB to ride the bench and allow for a transition. In the same respect if Alex does well then he is a perfect guy to hold the clip board behind and learn the depth of the playbook.
Why wouldn't they select Geno in this regard? Dorsey did it in Green bay, Reid did it in Philly. Same scenarios exactly.

My thoughts exactly (Or another young QBOTF). Especially when you consider that they are plugging their obfious holes via free agency.
