Vonta Leach - RB - Free Agent

Free agent FB Vonta Leach told Sirius XM Radio on Monday that he's in no rush to sign with a team.
A Friday report from ESPN claimed Leach would sign "early (this) week," but that may not happen. "We’re keeping all our options open," said Leach, 31. "There’s really not a rush for anything right now because you can’t do nothing on the football field. As long as we’re in somebody’s camp, I’ll be all right." Leach has drawn interest from the Texans, Dolphins, Giants, and Ravens.

Meh, it sucks but at least were constantly looking for upgrades. We still will have training camp cuts so well see what happens.

bishop hasn't been good for awhile, injuries etc... no loss. Have fun watching Cassel play, jackass.

So we can give 2 second round picks and draft a rt #1 but can't give a good player a 2 year contract?

I'm surprised someone didn't step up and offer him a 3 or 4 year deal with a roster bonus in the second year and very little guaranteed money.

John Clayton said Chiefs and B Albert will resume talks after July 4 with Optimism that a long term deal will get done. Said the Chiefs want B Albert as their LT for the future. Looks like B Albert will probably finish his career as a Chief while Fisher tears it up on the right side.

It will be a major upset if former Ravens FB Vonta Leach winds up anywhere other than Miami. Dolphins want him too much.

Where did you hear this about Albert? Cause I can't find it anywhere.

He said it on NFL32 today.

It speaks volumes about his hamstring tear that a player of his caliber was only offered 1 year deals.

I would put it 50/50 that Bishop comes back, plays at an above average rate, and can stay healthy with that type of injury. Truth be told, he won't be the last quality LB to be released this offseason.

It's interesting that Bishop chose a 4-3 and an open competition with Erin Henderson over another 1-gapping 3-4 where he'd be the clear cut starter. Ah well... It's a two-horse race now. I have to think Jordan's in the driver's seat for the starting gig.

Leach’s agent says no team is out of it yet

It wasn’t that long ago (yesterday) when the agent for Pro Bowl fullback Vonta Leach was saying he thought the Dolphins would be his client’s destination.

Today, he wants everyone to know there’s still plenty of time to bid on this coveted item.

“Nobody has been excluded,” agent Ralph Vitolo said, via Fox 26 in Houston. “You have to put Miami, Houston and the Giants in the first three.

“Kansas City is also involved and Baltimore is included in this also.”

Vitolo said that with NFL decision-makers scattered and on vacation, it was hard to envision a deal soon. But he reiterated the

“It’s difficult to get anything done right now because many club officials are gone and some of them are out of the country,” Vitolo said, reiterating that the Dolphins made the most sense.

“We’re not playing football so the sense of urgency is not there for us to do it or the teams,” Vitolo said.

Of course, if any of those teams would make a more substantial offer, that urgency would likely increase.
