Great effort today when he clearly didn't have his best stuff.

Shut down the Web Gem competition for the day, because we have a winner: http://wapc.mlb.com/play/?content_id=29333709&c_id=kc … Lorenzo Cain.

Unfortunately I don't see Yost getting fired and I still blame that dipshit for the beginning of the losing streak.

So Minnesota is about to get swept, and the Minnesota feed goes down.

COINCIDENCE???

Archie F. Swin 08-01-2013 01:36 PM

Should be enough room for Hoch

Cephalic Trauma 08-01-2013 01:36 PM

I love this team. I hope we can carry this momentum into New York.

I'm pretty sure Luke could be just as successful in the 9th inning as Jim Johnson.

Pretty capable of getting things done with clean innings. Struggles if he gets a man on at all, though.

You mean the Jim Johnson that is better than Mariano Rivera?

No...

Horseshit. No one is good as Jim "Marinao Rivera's is Second to Me" Johnson.

duncan_idaho 08-01-2013 01:47 PM

Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot that no REAL analysis of Jim Johnson can be given in this forum. My bad, boys.

Luke Hochvar might be good enough in clean innings to be a second-tier closer like Jon Papelbon, Craig Kimbrel, Mariano Rivera, which is pretty good for those teams unlucky enough to not have Jim Johnson.

BlackHelicopters 08-01-2013 01:48 PM

Shields walks 5 and still turns in a quality start.

I remember the 14 game winning streak in 1994. That was a lot of fun, pretty cool growing up at the time. Chiefs about made the Super Bowl. Royals looked like a legit playoff team. Damn strike.

Yeah, but all of us were saying that a week ago when we were riding a 4-game streak and playing the Sux on saturday.

siberian khatru 08-01-2013 02:03 PM

Surprised Tejada is still in there. I guess even Ned can't stand to watch EJ hit anymore.

His numbers against the sox don't match his numbers against everyone else. For whatever reason, he is lights out against them.
