Understanding the situation if not having enough heart to be great when great is needed the most. That's why he got paid. Did he earn his millions today that he still gets to keep even though he didn't focus on the last play ??

Bowe was pretty good before Haley. Todd did nothing.

I cannot believe people are upset with bowe after this game.

Dude, he caught the ball in stride !! You don't catch a ball in stride if the ball is under thrown thus Bowe's feet don't land the way they did. He just didn't focus on making sure he stayed in bounds. You are correct Gordy did nothing but Gordy did make sure to cloak him enough to get him to move as close to the sideline as possible without interfering with him.

Not upset with Bowe.

He played a very good game.

Just acknowledging what is fact and fact is Bowe missed opportunities to finish on two huge plays.

That can't be denied.

Bowe did not half ass this game. He looked like a stud.

A Great WR DOES make that play making SURE both feet are in because the throw and catch were there.

He was pushed out by the defender.

That's legal now...

3 plays. The long catch and run that should have been a TD. The easy drop on 3rd down that would have kept Luck off the field a bit longer, and obviously failing to stay inbounds on the final play.

MahiMike 01-04-2014 08:26 PM

So much thought and energy wasted in this thread. If bowe spent this much time on the playbook, he might be above average.

It's just sums up Bowe. When you need him to be great at the most critical times, when that great play is needed the most he disappoints almost every time. Alex did his job and got the pass there. He just forgot to make sure he stayed in bounds.:shake:

ViperVisor 01-04-2014 08:29 PM

A lot of good Bowe this game in addition to the 2 missteps. Played like a #1 WR.

The problem on Offense was much more the lack of a RB who could get 4 per carry. Nile was OK but scared to fumble and wouldn't be decisive or reach for a TD.

Bowe was in full stride and the throw was to his outside shoulder. Are you ****ing serious? The AS ball licking has reached new heights.

Chiefshrink 01-04-2014 08:36 PM

Bowe did have a good game but his "BoweITIS ADD" made a familiar appearance once again and it just happened to be on the very last play. The wrong time when you need a great play the most.

He didn't catch the ball 'in stride'. He caught it using his chest, with his left hand, over a DB's helmet. That wasn't 'in stride'. Like I keep saying, if that ball is thrown higher Bowe could catch with his hands and not have to adjust his body position- thus resulting in him having a better shot at staying in bounds.

Basically lol. AS played good today;however, that doesn't mean you should watch the game in rose colored glasses.

lcarus 01-04-2014 08:43 PM

I can't blame anybody on offense in this game. This game is 100%, without a doubt, PURELY on the defense. They scored 44 points and had a 28 point lead in the second half. And the offense did it without their best player. The defense shit the bed in the worst way and while the offense definitely needs help at WR, TE, and some more help on the OL, the defense has wayyyyy too many serious serious weaknesses. DJ, Berry, Hali, Poe, Houston, and Flowers are the only players who should stay. I think Cooper will be ok with more experience.

Bottom line is, we need more help with rushing the passer, and we need to find replacements for Kendrick Lewis, Sean Smith, and Dunta Robinson.

The pass was where it needed to be over his shoulder caught in stride. The undersized DB did nothing more than cloak him but not enough physically to really push Bowe around. Bowe just didn't focus to make sure he ran that straight fly route accurately enough to keep his feet in bounds after the catch or at least make an athletic attempt with his feet, which he did nothing. Which makes me think because he didn't, he really thought he was fine base on his casual landing. Most passes are not perfect but that last pass was more than capable to be caught in bounds.

Good ****ing lord, man. The throw needed to be in front/high so Bowe could make a play on it. He had a half step on his man. All throwing it to the sideline does is help the defender.

If we want to get over this hump, we have to rid ourselves of players like bowe.

Any real #1 WR makes that catch. How about the drops he had? Wanna discuss those too?

SeeingRed 01-04-2014 09:19 PM

Bowe played big time, more big time than any other Chief in this game

I'm withholding judgement on his play last year, I've been such a big fan for a long time that I'm going to simply wait for him to show me this year.

And truth be told, he may never again reach his old numbers, Smith likes to spread it around, I've lost count of how many times last year where we had 6, 7, 8 receivers in a game... I just want him to maximize the targets he does get more often.

If he has more games like Indy this year, I'll remain a big fan... he's a homeskillet man, gotta give him another chance.

Mr. Arrowhead 04-21-2014 03:16 PM

lets be honest D bowe is not the smartest cat out there, maybe it took him a full year to learn the brand new playbook and to get on par with Alex Smith.

I want to :hump: Kate Upton.

Alex Smith threw a ball just like you suggest and Bowe didn't make a play on that one either. He let the defender go up and high point the ball. In fact, Alex Smith try to put the ball in just about every place you could and there was always some kind of Bowe excuse about why the pass wasn't caught.

Bowe doesn't come back and fight through the defender so the ball can be back shoulder
Bowe doesn't high point the ball so the pass can't be a jump ball
Bowe isn't fast enough to be 3 yards open
Bowe lets the defender push him against the sideline so it can't be just pass/placed in his hands
Bowe catches with his chest, not his hands so it can't be 'in stride' or he is out of bounds or the defender has time to knock it away
If Bowe isn't open then 'Smith needs to just throw it' anyway but on the slant that Bowe failed to fight inside, Smith wasn't just suppose to throw it to a covered Bowe

endless gawd dam excuses, endless

Yeah couldn't be because Alex Smith devalues wide receivers. Nope, not at all. Has nothing to do with the fact that no wide receiver has EVER produced 1,000 yards with Alex Smith at QB. You dunce.
