Daniel signed a 3 year, $21 million dollar deal, which is now considered "Elite Backup" money.

If the Eagles can somehow move up to Cleveland's spot and take Goff or Wentz, the presence of Bradford and Daniel means that they won't have to rush their new QB into a starting role.

I really hope they just stay put and draft Ezekiel Elliot so he gets nowhere near the Raiders.

Common sense says it would be DUMB on the Eagles part to make such a move.

Common sense? What?

Bradford's never won anything and he's injury prone. It's unlikely that the Eagles will be drafting in the Top Ten anytime soon so it makes sense for them to get their Franchise QB this year.

The owner, GM and head coach have all met and dined with the three top QB's in this draft and they clearly want either Wentz or Goff.

The Franchise 04-14-2016 02:14 PM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Rams wanted two weeks to "debate" Cal QB Jared Goff and North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz.

The Rams are absurdly leaking that they've yet to make up their mind at No. 1 overall, but there's zero chance they would have mortgaged their future for a decision where they weren't already certain. They simply don't want people to know yet. Schefter reports they're "leaning toward" Goff, but other reports say it's Wentz. If the Rams actually don't know who they're taking, then they just made the worst trade in NFL history.

SF has got to be on the phone with Cleveland right now. 12 picks will help them move up for Wentz.

What a dumbass GM. If the top of your draft board isn't finalized 2 weeks before the draft, you have a terrible regime.

The 49ers roster is in such bad shape that if they do anything in this draft, it should be to trade back and pick up extra selections.

It's the smart thing to do.

By not releasing the name of the QB they covet, they may force the 49ers into giving up picks and weakening their roster for a QB that may not even fit their system.

Cleveland should trade that pick... they have a horrible history of picking that high, at most positions. Just roll with RGIII for at least this next season, trade out of #2 and add another 2-3 picks this year (they already have 10) and spread that shit around the roster.

Browns have 10 picks... 49ers have 12 picks.

49ers could move from 7 to 2 fairly easily, one would think.

R2 has the trade chart value of 2600 points.

R1P7 is worth 1,500.
R3P5 is worth 245 - gets you within 1,000 points.

Package a 2017 R1 or a R4/R5 this year and a R3 next year... they have all sorts of options.

Browns move down 5 spots, still get a hell of a player and they can add 2-3 picks this year. Why not?

Bradford counts for $12.5M this year and $22.5 next if he is on the roster but he was guaranteed $22M in the contract. Daniel counts for $5M this year and $8 next with a total guaranteed over the next 2 seasons of $9M. I am sure they want to invest another $25M +/- guaranteed into the QB position. They would only have $44M guaranteed into the QB position for the next 2 season.

Jeff Fisher has been, well, Jeff Fisher.

The cap hit for the 2nd overall pick is around $4.5-5.5 million each for the first two years. Bradford would play out his contract this year and then be cut the year after. Daniel would be an expensive backup....but who gives a shit? Your starting QB is cheap.

RealSNR 04-14-2016 02:43 PM

Having watched a ton of NDSU games, I really don't think Wentz is the right QB for this kind of trade up.

No but they will be paying an average of $6.5M for those 2 years to the drafted QB that is guaranteed the $9M guaranteed to Daniel and the $22M guaranteed to Bradford. That comes to a total of $44M guaranteed to the QB position over the next 2 years.

This makes zero sense.

First, the Rams can cut Bradford Post June 1 this year with zero cap savings and a $12 million dollar cap charge. Or, they can cut him at the end of the 2016 season and get a $9 million dollar cap charge and $12 million in savings.

Either way, Bradford won't be an Eagle next year if they draft a QB.

As Pest pointed out, the cap charge for the #2 overall pick would be about $4.5-$5 million this year, so even IF they have all three on the roster this season, an extra $5 million in the QBOTF is nothing.

$22 million for a starting QB is the going rate and the Eagles would have the much tied up in three QB's, not one.

In this scenario, Bradford won't be there next year so that number will drop considerably in 2017.

Also, he's been awesome signing UDFAs. McLeod, Hekker are the two that stand out but guys like Marquez and Harkey have been solid in their roles.

Snead drafted the 2014 Rookie Defensive Player of the Year in Aaron Donald and the 2015 Rookie Offensive Player of the Year in Todd Gurley.

He's drafted really well and they're literally a QB away from competing not only for the division but for the Super Bowl.

They went 7-9 with the 32nd ranked pass offense and the #29 overall offense. If things work out, they'll be humming by 2019 when they move into the new stadium.

Stating the "Average" for each year is inaccurate when discussing the #2 overall's salary cap impact in year one.

An offense that bad is more than a qb away.

They have 1 wr and no one at TE and gurley. They need to move their qb along slowly, that's for sure.

Plus they're coached by fisher.

This was a hell of a deal for TN considering they are happy with their QB from last year. Titans now have six picks in the top 76 in this year’s draft – 15, 33, 43, 45, 64 and 76... 9 picks overall. But, damn - 6 in the first 3 rounds is stellar (4 in the first 44).

I also think they are pretty sure of who they want to be the next coach

Harbaugh.

Jim Harbaugh.

He'd own LA and the 49ers.

Why?

Why not? Belichick did it for years in NE and Robinson is a protege.

But to further that, what they should do is bundle up a few of those picks and get at least another first rounder.

Their secondary is a mess, as is their WR corp. They have the ammo to get a couple of top tier secondary players while filling out their D line with a second and third rounder.

Their biggest obstacle is Mike Mularkey. Good grief, what an awful head coach.

They said some dude's name in addition to Fisher, it must have been someone other than the GM (obviously). I thought the visual of them curled up in the dark under their desks was pretty amusing...

They've got some good young wrs they just drafted. They need to load up the ol aND defense.

Getting back into the forst would be a good idea

Belichick did it for years and what awesome players does he have to show for it?

I'm not saying that he made the right decisions with those trades but the idea is sound.

One thing about having that many picks in ine draft is that they're all hitting free agency at the same time.

But more picks is more darts to throw at the board

That's true, as is having five extra players, making the rookie draft class at least 12.

By moving one or two forward, they can continue that practice for a few years and fill out the roster accordingly.

Well, you use all those picks and and players (as they become 2nd/3rd year players) for trade bait. You have all sorts of flexibility to resign guys early, etc. It's all about options. And, hell, they only have 9 this year... not the most in the league.

Didn't a St. Louis coach do that...nm.
