Stop trying to de-value Brady in an attempt to make Alex look better just because Alex's stats were in the same relative ballpark as his. You look ridiculous trying to do it. |

I went ahead and did the legwork on how many come from behind wins each guy has, total
Alex = 16 career come from behind wins Brady = 37 Since 2013 when Alex got here Alex = 6 come from behind wins Brady = 12 http://www.pro-football-reference.co...cks_career.htm Not that anyone really needed to see this graphic to understand Alex isn't in the same league as Brady. Well, anyone other than TigerUpperBob, that is. |

Tigger and Dane(unfortunately)are full reerun in the football department these days, sadly. I love Dane, but here we go: I spot Alex Smith PRIME YEARS, the following players: Jerry Rice Randy Moss Wes Welker in the slot Marcus Allen The entire 2003 Chiefs O-line The entire 1997 Chiefs defense WITH Neil Smith. The result? Reid gonna' Reid, and Smith gonna Smith. Absolute Ceiling: AFCCG LOSS. There it is. The hard, unyielding truth that you must and will accept. Good day sirs. |

2001 - 2,843 yds, 18 TD's, 12 INT's 2002 - 3,764 yds, 28 TD's, 14 INT's 2003 - 3,620 yds, 23 TD's, 12 INT's 2004 - 3,692 yds, 28 TD's, 14 INT's 2005 - 4,110 yds, 26 TD's, 14 INT's Alex Smith's 5 BEST STATISTICAL seasons in the league (noting that Alex has started 16 games only three times in his 12 year career) - 2011 - 3,144 yds, 17 TD's, 5 INT's 2012 - 1,737 yds, 13 TD's, 5 INT's (10 games started) 2013 - 3,313 yds, 23 TD's, 7 INT's 2014 - 3,265 yds, 18 TD's, 6 INT's 2015 - 3,486 yds, 20 TD's, 7 INT's (noting he threw the ball 78 more times than he did in '14 for 221 more yards in '15) And just for shits and grins, Russell Wilson's first four years in the league - 2012 - 3,118 yds, 26 TD's, 10 INT's 2013 - 3,357 yds, 26 TD's, 9 INT's 2014 - 3,475 yds, 20 TD's, 7 INT's 2015 - 4,024 yds, 34 TD's, 8 INT's BONUS - Russell Wilson has the exact same number of come from behind wins in 4+ seasons as Alex Smith does in 12 seasons with 16 So in conclusion, get the **** out of here with this silly ass shit. |
Foles was awful. He'd get slaughtered by a winning team.

Bowser if you're going to compare Smiths yards you have to include his rush yards too... Unless you don't want to provide the full facts
|
I clearly stated Russell's first two seasons which includes his super bowl run but to move the goal posts Bowser lists 4 years worth.
Clearly you are desperate to prove me wrong Facts are facts. |
Has Foles lost a game as a Chiefs yet?
Literally all the man does is win! |

You're the one pulling a groin muscle here (not to mention making yourself look like an idiot) by trying to compare Alex to either Brady or Wilson. Alex is a good quarterback whose strength is not turning over the ball. Alex is not an elite game changing QB as Brady and Wilson are. That explains why Alex only has 4 wins against teams where his defense gives up 24 or more points. He's not a QB that can win you games coming from behind late. But you know all of this. |

Just because I'm bored -
Alex career rushing - 440 att, 1,975 yds, 9 TD's Wilson career rushing - 436 att, 2,474 yds 12 TD's And Wilson has done that in 4+ years compared to Alex's 11+ Good call bringing up the rushing stats! LMAO |
Quote:
We've had way, way worse QB's here in KC than Alex, but let's not start pretending that he is one of the very best in the league. He is an above average guy as a quarterback. Coming from a guy that had to sit through the Brodie Croyle and Tyler Thigpen years, I'll take it. But we have to keep the TigerUpperBob's in place when they start getting out of control with this stuff. |
Jesus Christ bowser can you even stay on topic. You are as bad as clay moving those goal posts.
It's already been established here, far worse quarterbacks than Smith have won the title. Team effort. But primarily, defense wins rings. Just ask Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, Roeth, Flacco, Eli... None of those guys have won it carrying their whole team. The closest to doing that was brees and that only happens once in a blue moon |
Quote:
Rodgers was 5th and 4th the year of his SB. Flacco was 14th and 17th Eli was 12th and 9th. The WORST of that group was Roethlisberger as a rookie, and even his 21st YPG was > than Alex has ever been, and he would have been top 10 in TDs had he started all 16 games. Please just stop this madness. Alex Smith is currently 26th in YPG and has fewer TDs than Case Keenum. This team is going to need an absolute miraculous defensive revival with Houston returning to 100% to get close to a SB while Smith is here. |

You're the one that invoked Russell Wilson's name in comparison to Alex. You're the one that brought up rushing yards. You're the one that gets to eat a shit sammich. Quote:
I don't "hate" Alex, but I don't love him, either. He's better than a JAG. He won't kill your team, but he won't pull it out of the fire in crunch time, either. |
You sound upset. Not once did I ever say we had an equal or better chance of winning all with Smith over those two. Clearly, the original point was that Smith has shown efficiency that a large percentage of quarterbacks produced when they won a ring
|
I keep thinking back to 2013.. and if the crunch-time perspective changes one iota on him.. if Dwayne Bowe can just tap that second foot in bounds. :(

Elizabeth ignored another question of mine!!!! I guess that means he threw in the towel, big time!!!

Foles has more upside. Alex has peaked, Foles hasn't.
Nick Foles led the Chiefs to 19 offensive points and 187 passing yards yesterday. The Chiefs have had less than 19 offensive points and less than 187 passing yards in 25% of Alex Smith’s starts in Kansas City (13 games). |

To the success of the team. Efficiency plus wins is enough indication to me that Smith is a quality quarterback. Hard to refute that . ... |

What about his hidden yards and hidden TD's?

What makes the Patriots so dominant over the last several years is that you have to beat them, they aren't going to beat themselves. The Chiefs fall into that category right now too. Especially with Alex taking care of the ball. We have an identity for great turnover differential and low penalties.
This is the reason why the Chiefs have the best chance to defeat New England in the playoffs. |

2014 - 6 games scored 19 or less. 6 Losses 2015 - 4 games scored 19 or less. 2 W's, 2 L's 2016- 4 games scored 19 or less. 1 W, 2 L's 19 points seems to be the Chiefs magic number. If they score 19 or less, they've won only 5 games while losing 12 for a winning percentage of 41.7%. |

This team plays well when Andy's game plan works and they're below average when his game plan sucks. |
I dont think they were necessarily unprepared in 2014, they just didn't have much talent. It was basically Charles and Kelce and a bunch of Jags.

Anyway, the bottom line is that if a team can't score 20 points, most likely, that team is going to lose. |

Someone else did, I did not. Sorry, but in this era of football - 19 points (OK) and 187 yards passing (TERRIBLE) doesn't cut it when it matters. JMO. This team goes as far as the defense carries them. |
Quote:
If "all he does is win" then the losses are on him too. Anyone that is remotely rational knows the defense carries this team. |

Alex Smith isn't a Hall of Fame QB. Period. But the story doesn't end there because all people like yourself do is denigrate his performances, good or bad, and compare him to Brady, Brees, Rodgers and even Rivers. He's none of those guys and never will be. He IS, however, a guy that can win a shit ton of games and with just a little luck (i.e., health) can push a team to the Super Bowl. |

Otherwise? Not so much. |

But to be fair, half of those losses occurred in 2014, when the Chiefs had shit at WR. Dwayne Bowe was a fat pig, Donnie Avery was invisible and injured most of the year, just like Anthony Fasano. It's pretty amazing that they were able to win 9 games that season. Take a look around the league. When offensive lines struggle, running backs struggle and wide receivers struggle, teams, regardless if they're the Ravens or 49ers or Cardinals or the Colts, a long playoff push is unlikely. Quote:

Houston had 22 sacks that year, so why didn't the Chiefs make the playoffs? |
