Hey guys, Titans fan checking in to see what you guys are saying.

The last time we played you guys it was the start of the 2014 season and we won.......... it was one of two wins all year :(

After being by far the worst team in the league for two years in a row things are looking up for the Titans. We even have a realistic shot at the playoffs for the first time since 2011 (almost made it that year). Still though the Titans have a major Achilles heal.

There is only one NFL caliber CB on the roster, Jason McCourty. He is quite good but the rest are complete trash. If the Chiefs can exploit that weakness then they should win. If not then the Titans have a good chance. Some other notes on the team:

-The rest of the defense is solid and the pass rush is quite good.

- Then run game is very good. Demarco Murray is back to being a star and Derrick Henry could probably start for half the teams in the NFL. The OL, FB and TEs excel at run blocking.

- The pass game is hit or miss. The starting WRs are possession guys and the best receiver is starting TE Delanie Walker. The passing game is mostly quick short stuff. Both RBs are also strong receivers.

- Mariota is the real deal. Early in the year he was mistake prone as he was constantly trying to do too much. The past several weeks though he has settled down and is playing within himself and not trying to win the game on one play.

- Mariota is funny when it comes to running. He is never going to be a "Great" runner like Cam Newton or Mike Vick, he is more of a strait line runner. However, he is very fast, has great instincts and vision. While he is not likely to get a ton of rushing yards in over a season he is someone who will burn you bad with his feet if given the opportunity.

Get AIDS.

You have obviously never watched Houston play linebacker. He is arguably one of the best run defender/pass rusher OLB in football. You wont run on him.

Dee Ford on the other hand......

Of note, Mitchell Scwartz gave up like a 2 pressures in total of both Raider games. He's a fine pass blocking RT. Although I feel like he struggles in the run game. Just nice to have our triangle set (LT, G, RT). I like Erhinger at LG, need a RG this offseason. Right now I'd gladly swap Poe for a guy like Osemele.

Maybe, but how will he respond to two Tackles on him at the same time?

Titans use their 3rd OT as a TE to neutralize everyone off the edge this year

Im not knocking Houston's ability, but youre telling me he's going to beat two 320lb Tackles?

If Anthony Barr, Khalil Mack, Cameron Wake, Von Miller, and everybody else were all held in check there no reason Titan fans should worry too much about anyone.

You guys do have the best pair of tackles in the NFL in my opinion, but Justin Houston is not like any of the ends you mentioned. He's bigger, he's stronger, he's better against the run. Conk is going to have to bring his A++ game to keep Houston in check because he hasn't seen a bullrush, coupled with a complete set of pass rush moves, like Houston has yet. I think you'll have much more success against Ford, who is much more one dimensional and much weaker (ala Barr, Mack, Miller).

I ****ing dare them to single Poe and Jones. They'll wreck the middle of the pocket. Then they'll double them and Houston and co. will wreck the edges.

They'll run on Ford but I think we can roam Berry and Sorensen in the middle to neutralize it for the most part

The Oilers haven't won a game in years. You know, like the Browns.

So what scares you about the Chiefs and what do you think are their weaknesses?

In Chiefsland, we're concerned about run defense given that our two starting DEs and top 3 ILBs are on injured reserve. Our own running game has been sucking wind the past couple of weeks as well, though there's no solid theory as to why. I have no idea how the Titans look on run defense.

I think the keys to the game for the Chiefs are getting the run game going, but if that's not possible feeding the ball to Tyreek and Kelce for YAC. On defense, we want to get a lead early so the Titans have to pass.

kccrow 12-15-2016 03:16 PM

Play a 3-5 look against them. Put Parker single-high, Berry and Sorensen in the box (both defend the run incredibly well and both can cover Walker), with Wilson on the inside. Hali (primarily over Ford for his run defense) and Houston on the edges.

RealestWhiteBoy
Special Teams Standout

Hulk Hogan weighing in on Sunday's game:
Well, first things first, brother. The Patriots are on a mission and stand on top of the mountain, they are number one. But if we want our shot at #1, then we have to beat #2, first … and that’s exactly what we are going to do on Sunday, brother.

You know, I guess you could say that Titan-mania is running wild, brother. You know, a few weeks ago when we fell short in Indy, the whole season turned around. We had to look deep inside ourselves, we had to dig to the depth of our souls, and we had to find out who we are, dude. Were we satisfied with a few wins, or were we prepared to shock the world? We really didn’t know how we was going to handle the world of professional football. But when we put them pads on, and laced them cleats up, and ran out of that tunnel … but the feeling when we put the Bears down, we know it was time to turn this season and franchise around, brother. We ultimately answered that question within ourselves when we brought the hammer down on the reigning champions last week, and we are going to answer it for everyone else when we spoil the party in KC this Sunday, man.

The media in KC and around the nation is right, this is going to be a big game. This is going to be an important game. This is going to have a lot of playoff implications. This is even going to be a slugfest. But everyone is wrong about one thing, brother. By the end of the day, the Titans won’t be beaten. By the end of the day, the Chiefs will be the ones physically beaten down and laying at the Titans feet saying you are the man, you rule the world of professional football.

Because the Titans have their focus deeper than Kansas City, dude. The Titans have their focus on Houston, and I don’t mean Week 17 in Nashville, dude. Because after we beat #2 on Sunday, we are going to take care of puny, little Jacksonville, then we are going to mow over the Texans, and with the Patriots in our sights, we have our focus on getting back to Houston for the second time this year and we want the best that the NFC has to offer, brother.

We knew when we stepped off the porch and made a statement that some big dogs would come barking, and we welcome the challenge. With Casey coming back to push your line around, Morgan coming around the edge, and Orakpo collapsing the pocket, I want to know one thing: Alex Smith, whatcha gonna do, brother? Whatcha gonna do when the wall of two-toned blue collapses on you?!?

And just remember that when you are with the Titans, brother, when you are in the tWo, you are in the tWo 4-Life.

I think the cold is going to effect Mariota more than they think. It's going to be colder than last Thursday's game...and I couldn't imagine playing in that.

KC has the advantage of practicing in it all week.

Sutton's going to focus on stopping the run and force Mariota into proving he can play in a 0 windchill, hostile stadium.

It was mid-20s today in Nashville with an ugly windchill. Hopefully the team spent some time outside. Mariota had been experimenting earlier with a throwing glove (for the cold) but is unlikely to use it.

The front 7 is indeed very good. If Jurrell Casey plays, we'll be pretty stout. The secondary has sucked but they played out of their minds last week. Nothing like the incentive that you might get cut to get the attention of the group (Titans GM Jon Robinson does not play around).

They have all week. My office is near the Titan's practice field, you can hear the air horns for practice outside.

But I've been in Arrowhead when it's going to be as cold as it will be on Sunday. It's bone-chilling-soul-stealing-sink-the-Edmund-Fitzgerald cold. Weather is going to be a factor for TN.

No one said that cold wouldn't be a factor. 12 degrees at game time plus wind chill is just ugly. But at least Nashville isn't mid-60s this week....practicing in the cold will help some.

Ben Jones is going to continue his pre-game warmup routine of going out on the field barefoot. Conklin may join him. That's hardcore.

But I've been in Arrowhead when it's going to be as cold as it will be on Sunday. It's bone-chilling-soul-stealing-sink-the-Edmund-Fitzgerald cold. Weather is going to be a factor for TN.

Mariota is a Hawaii boy. He's gonna feel like he's standing naked in the Arctic.

If Anthony Barr, Khalil Mack, Cameron Wake, Von Miller, and everybody else were all held in check there no reason Titan fans should worry too much about anyone.

Over 600lbs of man lock down the edges most snaps, no one is getting thru that, sorry.

If you are missing what he is doing with those posts this might not be the site for you.

Even he admitted this week that he hadn't had a high school game colder than 75 degrees. Paradise must be nice.

Good Jesus I'm joking - but it's getting a little old seeing everyone curl-up in the fetal over facing a decent team.

We've beaten some better than decent teams, on the road, so I'm not sure why people are that worried about a decent team at home.

I like Mariota as a person and player, just not against the Chiefs.

Anyone else worried about this game? Their gm apparently doesn't play around, he in fact does very little dilly dallying at all! No monkeying about and no horsing around either. We are dealing with someone who does not take things lightly ladies and gentlemen!
