I also think financial wise is the only reason we are committed to him this season.

I don't think that fact guarantees we are committed to him as the starter for 2017. Maybe early, but maybe not too.

Reid and Dorsey really have no option to say Smith is the starter at this point in time, 'cause once they say he isn't, it's over.

No team has elite play from every position on offense. The Chiefs had 2 all pro's, a rock solid OL, a WR voted in the top 100 by the players and a RB that had over 4 YPC.

QB has to put the team over the top and Alex didn't do it. We would have been 14-2 if Alex hadn't thrown the 2 horrible end zone picks and we would have beaten the Steelers if he had a spine and went for Hill.

Yeah Peyton Manning certainly put the Broncos over the top with his 9 TD 17 INT season.

A lot of you idiots think defense doesn't matter. Guess what? It does. As a group, it is just as important as the offense. Something a lot of you QB obsessed morons don't seem to understand.

The Chiefs defense gave up 18 points to one of the best offenses in the league and Alex still couldn't get it done.

New World Order 05-18-2017 01:27 PM

Alex has had a great running game and defense for most of his time here.

The passing game has been continually bad since 13 and we have a disastrous playoff record

Time to move on after this year.

RunKC 05-18-2017 01:30 PM

The Chiefs have been top 7 on defense in points allowed every year of this regime. They've given up 19 or fewer points in every loss but 1 last season, which is 5 points fewer than the league average 24 PPG given up.

GTFO with your bashing of the defense bullshit

That defense accounted for at least two wins on it's own. This team could have easily been 10-6 and bounced in the wildcard game.

You could make a case for 2015 having injuries to key players, but the defense giving up no TD's, Ol playing solid and Maclin, Kelce, Ware, Hill and Conley all available and we lose to the Steelers.

Hmmm. I wonder why Andy and John traded up for Mahomes 3 months after that game?

What do you think Tiger?

There's no hate. None at all.

Watched every snap of every game. It's a joke that they were "pass heavy." Not even in the top half of the league in attempts or yards.

And while attempts did go up, it was only because Smith lost a step and knew his scrambles were going to be less and less effective, so he threw more. And it hurt the offense, which scored the fewest points per game of the Reid era.

Go look up Smith's abysmal third down completion percentage and rating. His legs will probably be almost completely gone this season and if he can't run and can't convert third downs and cant throw touchdown passes he's pretty much done. Which everyone here already knows. Including Andy Reid and John Dorsey.

I would go as far as to say that if Alex doesn't change up his game and take more chances this season, we will only win 8 or 9 games. I really believe that.

If he does change his approach and give his playmakers more opportunities to make plays downfield, I would say they win 10 or 11 and exit in the divisional round.

TigeRRUppeRRcut 05-18-2017 05:02 PM

Alex Smith says he still has a few years left, Jeff Saturday said Smith still has a lot of life left. Tom Brady, Manning, Favre will have played into their 40's. Most 10+year veteran QBs peak somewhere in their early 30's.

But somehow a 33 year old Smith who has improved year after year in KC is old and past his prime?

The idiocy is strong on CP.

Yes, but only because he ran less. Smith passed more, ran less and the Chiefs scored less.

And a team that has historically stopped Smith from running, the Steelers, completely shut down the offense for a huge chunk of the po game.

Smith is mostly useless if you can't use his legs.

Hopefully we win double-digit games again and Alex has a good season so we can get a 2nd rd draft pick from a team like the Jets, Cardinals or Jags.

Bruce Arians wanted Alex and Cardinals are in the NFC, so I think that with Carson Palmer likely retiring, trading Alex for a 2nd rd pick would help everyone.

If we got a 2nd for Alex I'd be ecstatic. It would really help us forget about not having a 1st rd pick next Spring.

They ****ing sucked, and if the defense didn't have some insanely timely turnovers the Chiefs probably don't make the playoffs.

Tigger's butthurt is cresting daily and will soon be out of control.

This is awesome.

Nothing Tigger says or does can stop the oncoming Mahomes Express. Nothing.
Nothing Tigger says or does can change the fact that Reid and Dorsey were ALL-IN for Mahomes for almost a YEAR before the draft.
Nothing Tigger says or does will erase the deep and plentiful shame that Alex Smith and his idiotic fans felt when Reid and Dorsey put a "Kap" in his ass.
Again.
I will enjoy watching Tigger squirm all year long, and I will celebrate joyously when Smith is gloriously shit-canned for all the world to see.

I'm sensing a lot of bias in your posts.

How has Smith improved every year? He's been the same, if not regressed, every single season. He probably has a few years left. Does it matter? No, because he is what he is. A QB who will provide solid but unspectacular play. Good enough to lead a stacked roster to the playoffs, but will be unable to get said team over the hump.

And, honestly, he did a great job leading the Chiefs towards being a good team again. Our team was terrible before the quick rebuild of Dorsey/Reid's first year.

He is only here a short while, to see us through the crisis.

Soon he will depart to the undying lands.

Or you know, welcome Smith back to SF. LMAO

That begs the question. Who is Sauron -- Spanky Cheeks, Tiger Buttercup, or Snoopy-Maverick?

Actually, they are more like the Ringwraiths.

Alex is Sauron and Spanky, Snoopy, Buttercup and the rest of the Alexsexuals are the Nazgul, poisoning your peaceful forum with their ill will and evil tidings, rancid stench and all.

I guess that makes Mahomes II, Aragorn. He will vanquish Sauron and the Alexsexual Wringwraiths will be no more...

And Chiefs Planet lived Happily ever after.

The End.

Until the next Flame War...

And that makes me Frodo Baggins.

Or rather, as I was once known...Douche Baggins.

Alex isn't a running quarterback anymore. Which is terrible for him, because he was never a throwing quarterback either.

This is exactly WHY running quarterbacks don't last long over the age of 30.

Kaepernick 05-19-2017 03:44 PM

Running QBs never succeed in the NFL. The challenge with all these college spread QBs is to turn them into pocket passers, and a lot of them just cant do it.

jjchieffan 05-19-2017 04:07 PM

I think that Alex Smith would have to be pretty dense to think anything else. The Chiefs just traded up 17 spots to take a gunslinger quarterback 10th overall. That doesn't exactly scream we are committed to our quarterback. Cue the Captain Obvious Gif

Like any other zombie, there is no live brain at work. Just autopilot. All the Alexsexual Zombies are sleepwalking through reality, looking for their next human to convert. As with any other Zombies, they cant feel a thing as the real Chiefs fans here continually blow them to pieces. They are oblivious to the incoming fusilade.

It is like you are all stuck in a bad horror movie.

His fan base makes up for it in the dense department. While even poor, pitiful, and barely talented Alex can clearly assess his current situation, his followers hath not the mental capacity to reason in such a manner.

The Chiefs have selected their future, and Smith has no part in it.

Yep... swinging that purse to avoid drowning in his own tears for what's left of Kaepernick, lol. So happy that Harbalke and Kaep are out of SF. Will take at least another year to wash the stank outta Santa Clara... but it's happening! :)

I FYP.

I think the Chiefs are wisely committed to a much better future. It's a shame that so many great players have had to suffer under the god-awful, true fan rank-stank of mediocre, transplant, shitbag QB's, but their sacrifice has paved the way for the glorious Golden Age we are about to enter.

Let us nevar forget.

The Smith era may end sooner than 2018.

I have no wish to see Alex Smith get hurt or injured, but I would like to see him get hit so hard that his fan boys suffer brain aneurysms.

****ing tard, if you believe that. Smith, 42-20, as a Chief.. and brought a shit-tier team back to respectability. You can pathetically hate him for not being great enough to beat the best.. but he has easily been the best QB that KC has had since Trent.. what? 20 years ago?

LOL, so basically, go **** yourself.

Truly pathetic sentiments from someone above the age of 8.

Well done.
