The places I haven't traveled to, watch one episode and you feel like you've been there. That's a pretty good reason to watch the guy's show.

I loved his Koreatown (Los Angeles) episode. That was some of the best conversation about the LA Riots I have ever seen.

crazydaysandnights had a blind item about an improperly hurried and guided autopsy, but it looks like they pulled it.

Not alleging, just reporting.

Alcohol is a drug Einstein.

Drug: a medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body.

Yep. I'll call BS with you. I remember reading how Bourdain wouldn't do a show in Saudi for the longest time because he couldn't go without booze for a day.

He talked a lot about enriching everyone he worked with and not just himself. Maybe that’s what this looks like?

That dude is his best friend, didn’t work for his company.

I found the article I read about him awhile back that I was referencing in my post above. It’s worth a read if you want more insight at all into what you posted earlier.

The guy who found him - Eric Ripert - is a Michelin 3 Star chef and one of the most famous people in the culinary world. But classy post and insight. That added much to this discussion.

Spending $2M a month could result in some awesome memories (as long as you don't kill yourself after you spend it).

There's no doubt he was burning the candle at both ends (and ftr, I loved the guy.)

He's also known as stupidly loyal to people he does like.

I think his twisted gf might have pulled him out into deep waters...

Not great for an addict.

That said his twitter was much more "curt" than his TV reviews.

And he had a strange relationship with his current gf and normal daddy issues with his daughter.

I think his death is sketchy but I would lean more towards the GF than "omg Hillary kilt him for his twitter!"

It was just recently revealed that Bourdain didn't have nearly the assets one would expect, leading to speculation where his wealth went.

In other recent news, Depp has notoriously depleted an immense fortune [on a scale of $3/4B (with a B)] with lavish spending habits. So people were drawing connections between Depp's spending and Bourdain's apparent spending.

The recent article on Depp

Diane: Surely a man of your age and experience must have read some of the things on my list. What about Macbeth?

Thornton: I saw the movie. Orson Welles. Great actor, big actor. He was a Tall and Fat customer for years.

Diane: How about Cat On A Hot Tin Roof?

Thornton: I saw the movie. Burl Ives. Great actor, extra stout. He was a customer, too.

Diane: A Streetcar Named Desire.

Thornton: Great movie. Marlon Brando. He wasn't that big then, but he ballooned up nicely. I'd say, pound for pound, our finest American actor.

Diane: Don't you ever read?

Thornton: Who has time? I see the movie. I'm in and out in two hours.

Diane: Oh, Thornton, don't you see? The reason you want to read these works is so you can experience them for yourself, so you can share the thoughts and feelings of the writer, without the interference of your actor and director and professor's point of view getting in the way. To truly share and understand the common feelings of all mankind, the feelings of being alive.

True and we all need balance. Sitting on a pile of money and doing nothing with it sure isn't smart either.

But the single worst thing you can do to your adult children is make them support you financially.

And trust me, when you get old and can't take care of yourself, you do not want to see the kinds of choices of nursing home facilities you get when you are on Medicaid through the state's care.
