I'd be frustrated if I had garbage like Cam Newton and the Buffalo dumpster fire slinging passes in my general direction, too.

Low risk signing.

Well welcome to the chiefs Pre Mahomes.

Our QBs the last 3 decades defines the word garbage.

For all the virtual handjobs the media seems to give Cam Newton, catching a ball from him has to be like trying to catch a shotgun blast from distance.

Dude ****ing sucks.

TribalElder 12-06-2018 05:10 PM

If we haven't heard anything by now, he must have just come for the BBQ right?

Halfcan 12-06-2018 05:21 PM

It would be nice to add another big red zone target for Mahomes.

He seems the type that will still want a huge contract even though he was released by the shitty Bills midseason.

At some point, the Chiefs have to seriously consider finding some defensive players, wouldn't they?

I mean, for Christ sakes, they gave up a shit-ton of points to Oakland....

OAKLAND.

Who's out there to pick up?

Couch-Potato 12-06-2018 05:40 PM

My take is that he'd be great in that D Harris role, sort of a TE/WR hybrid red zone target. Unfortunately he thought he was bigger than Cam Newton, then was traded to a shit team, and now apparently has a bad attitude and work ethic, so it's tough to love him. If Reid feels like he's been humbled enough, and is willing to take a significantly lesser role with a winning unit and be happy with that, I trust the coaching staff's decision.

Dude sucks.

Cam Newton did win an MVP and lead his team to a Super Bowl during a season when Fat Kelvin (a.k.a. his supposed #1 WR) was injured for the entire season.

Speaking of “virtual handjobs” it is hilarious watching the True Fans crowd trying to convince themselves that Fat Kelvin would be a good signing/addition for the Chiefs.

The only positive that can be said about Fat Kelvin at this point is the fact he would be a low risk acquisition... otherwise he is trash.

Yeah right. Cam is a Top 10 QB. He had to throw to Benjamin last year when people thought Benjamin was still good. His leading WR this year is a running back.

I doubt anyone wanted to pay him whatever part of that 8.5 he'd be due. Also, Sammy has been a FP at practice (I believe), maybe they just wanted another target for peanuts just in case someone goes down. I realize this is Pat and not Alex but look what happened last year when Kelce went down against the Titans...

Marcus Kemp and Gehrig Dieter are active WRs on our roster. Adding a guy who had first round talent to a reclamation contract for what I'm assuming is vet minimum doesn't say much about Watkins, especially since he's practicing.

WhawhaWhat 12-06-2018 07:23 PM

Former 1st round pick as the 5th or 6th option in the offense. Don't see how this could be a bad thing.

He's playing for vet minimum in one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL with the best QB in the NFL. No more laziness or bullshit. If he doesn't produce here his career might be over. He should be sufficiently motivated.

I am pretty worried about him messing with really good chemistry. But I trust that McDermott & Rivera (two Reid guys) gave him plenty of intel on him. If he behaves, he'll be a real nice get.

No delusions of him mopping the floor. But we really could use a big target down low now that we lost Hunt. I imagine he won't be an every down receiver.
