Good as he can be when healthy, dudes just eating money and a roster spot in the trainers room

Amazing how almost every other franchise in the league knows when and where to dump their garbage while the Chiefs just cruise the neighborhood in their red and gold Deffenbaugh truck picking that shit up, and then paying the exorbitant landfill processing fees.

So, does he need to sit out the rest of the season in order that he might be available to play in that one game? And, if he does play, does he get credit for playing a full game if he sits after a couple of plays?

Sammy Watkins has shown us exactly who he is, I'd start believing him before you lose more $$$.

Yeah, seems odd to play him in this game with 6 other starters sitting. Nothing to gain from him playing this week at all as this will most certainly be a loss. Seems pretty stupid.

I think there's no more than a 15% chance Watkins is on this team next year. I'd love to keep him around too, but not at anywhere close to that price tag. Think Robinson likely will be gone too and the offense will have to find ways to work with Hardman and Pringle as the second WR options after Hill.

ah it's 0%.

I don't hate Watkins or anything, but his inability to stay on the field is a major problem, and you don't pay a guy with what, 600 yards $20 million.

He gone.

In retrospect, Veach's worst signing in pay/performance ratio.

I ain't mad, it was worth the risk, but the gamble on Watkins' health didn't really pay off.

You have several options already on the roster to replace/improve that production.

Hardman will certainly take a bigger role. D Rob if you want to keep him-he's dependable. Pringle has shown promise.

Setsuna 12-26-2019 10:36 AM

I think it was a great contract structure, and everyone knew he was gone next year, when you save 13m against the cap if he's not on the team. It was purposefully done this way. There was 0 intention of ever paying Sammy 20m.

He averaged 16m a year on his contract... also outproduced in 2019 the likes of:

Ty Hilton
Adam Thielen
Alshon Jeffery
Brandin Cooks

Who all average between 11m-16m a year on their contracts.

The Chiefs were a matchup mayhem for anyone trying to contain Kelce / Tyreek / Hunt / Watkins last year.

Top 5 All time offense.

lol... lets take big games away from everyone so we can cherry pic stats :P

If you take away Tyreek's Titans and Vikings game.... hes totaled 37 catches for 502 yards, thats about an average of 4 catches for 50 yards a game... over a season thats 64 catches for 800 yards... for over 18m a year!!! Lets get rid of him...

PS: not trying to bag on you OKchiefs, just the absurdity of cherry picking stats to make it fit a narrative.

I agree he needs to be gone, but I think he served a purpose.

RaidersOftheCellar 12-26-2019 04:58 PM

I think you have to go by the original intent. I don’t think that intent was to include a few snaps as a game played. To me, there’s a big difference between “a game played” and “a game played IN.”

But I guess it should’ve been clarified.
