Agreed. Hell, the Steelers gave Nelson 3 for 25 a few years ago. I have to imagine Ward is getting nearly double that.

If I had to find a comparable player, it'd probably be Trae Waynes who just got 3 for 42.

Well, if it’s not the Best Buy in Leawood I question the validity of your statement.

Exactly.

CB salaries are just out of control right now.

Not possible. We were told by a Vikes fan that Hughes is terrible because Zimmer, who apparently knows about CBs, gave up on him. We were robbed because we gave up a late round pick for him.

sure....it's early in the process, but the issue is the Vike's fan saying we got fleeced, when in reality it was totally worth the 15 spot move to see if we can untap the first round potential.

Seems to me like Hughes is having a decent/productive camp thus far, which is already a win.

There really is no "losing" in this deal for the Chiefs....he doesn't work out, so what, but if comes anywhere close to his 1st round potential, then it's a total win

RealSNR 09-12-2021 06:05 PM

****ing. Fleeced.

Munson 09-12-2021 06:07 PM

It only took 1 game for him to make the game saving INT.

Another great trade by Burt Vatch.

Bl00dyBizkitz 09-12-2021 06:14 PM

Can someone quote that Vikings fan from months ago? Those posts are comedy gold now.

PattyFlakes 09-12-2021 06:15 PM

Brent Vance sure fleeced those Vikings…. Thanks Zim.

Bump 09-12-2021 06:17 PM

had the game saver! sure it was an EZ pick thanks to Mayfield throwing while falling after being chased and someone grabbed his leg, I think he was trying to throw it away. But a lot of CBs would have dropped that, he came up clutch with it!

It's all fine and dandy now while he made a game-sealing play in Week 1, but what will you be saying when the Chiefs should be drafting in the 6th round this April and it turns out they're going to have to wait until round 7 to make their pick?!!!

THEN you'll be sorry!!!!!! MikeVike tried to tell you!!!

ROFL

Honestly, the guy literally justified the trade with this one play. If he never even sees the field again, it's validated.

I love being a fan of this team. All the years of heartbreak were well worth it.

I mean, I guess, but?

I have to re-watch the game but dood seemed to be playing soft coverage and getting toasted esp. in the first half.

There's a reason this trade happened, and you're not dealing with the Raiders front office. We just turned a seventh ouch and into a sixth by giving you a completely destroyed prospect

Mike Hughes.. after breaking his neck and his knee..

Just remembered this guy,

I guess if this is a completely destroyed prospect by Vikings and their fan’s standards, it’s not surprising they lose all the time

I just meant as far as the compensation. I mean we gave up basically nothing for him and are paying him peanuts. That one play alone is enough to justify the transaction.

Just in regards to that Viking fan saying we got "fleeced" was really all I was commenting on.

But, but, but muh Zimmer knows CBs and he only "fleeced" KC because he knew Hughes was no good.

Had to bump this in honor of MikeVike, who departed chiefs planet as a young tender noob.

He came her to badmouth Mike Hughes and the Chiefs front office for trading for him.

MikeVike ran into the arms of Orange Mane because his thread debut did not go so well here.

So Mike Hughes is starter in nickel, available kick returner. Had INT to closeout opener.

Orange Mane ceased operations.

And another Vikings kicker under Zimmer misses a makeable kick to win a game.

Mike Vike is right the Vikings moved up from the seventh to the sixth when they traded Mike Hughes.

This dude kinda sucks too.

ThyKingdomCome15 10-03-2021 04:48 PM

I'm not ready to give up on him just yet.

RealSNR 10-03-2021 05:06 PM

Are these dudes getting burned or are we inexplicably leaving 16 yard cushions on the WRs on purpose?

This defense is far more GRob than it is Sutton.

Phoneix 10-03-2021 05:13 PM

 the DB's on this team are not the problem - a lot of those throws were perfectly placed - or in the case of the TD the TE had a great grip on the ball while Hughes was trying to dislodge the ball.

A lot of the completions I saw were due to pick plays and double crossing routes that paired the target WR with the off CB. We need to do a better job with reading these and picking up the appropriate WR

poolboy 10-03-2021 05:42 PM

Snead is good at putting pressure on the qb...really good
Seems like the back end guys were leaving too much cushion in whatever zone they were playing

ThyKingdomCome15 10-03-2021 07:10 PM

Our DL is much worse than our secondary if you can believe that.

They were all over Hurts today they just weren't finishing him off. The rush was there they just didnt get him much until late. Hurts made some great plays to be honest.

The 10-15 yard cushions, I have no idea what was going on.

Going to seem more Hughes today against Hunter Renfrow or DeSean Jackson in the dime package?

He’s provided excellent depth for a late round pick.

We got this guy for basically free and he's actually produced in a few games. Zero complaints from me.

You can bet that Honey Badger told Hughes that his job today was to pick up for Sneed's absence. Dude showed out.

ThyKingdomCome15 12-12-2021 03:22 PM

Bowser 12-12-2021 03:33 PM

PFF has Hughes as the 19th best CB from I think something like 118, with a score of 72.4. That was before this game, it'll surely increase. That's a really, really good return for the pick at this point.

I think earlier in the year he wasn't playing poorly, but he was beaten badly by Williams and some of the losses looked ugly against those big bodied receivers. It feels like they know how to use him now and he's more comfortable.

Mama Hip Rockets 12-12-2021 04:46 PM

I'm 100% shocked the Raiders couldn't take advantage of this midget. Because he is usually burnt toast if he's not your 4th CB.

Hughes has potential. We need to keep working with him.

Same with Gore and Danna.

I also want Bolton out on the damn field, instead of Niemann.

JPH83 12-13-2021 02:06 PM

Yep, PFF grade for Hughes is now 81.3 - they have him as the 5th CB and Fenton as the 3rd. Obviously silly for one game to elevate anyone that much but it shows how much he balled out, if anyone somehow missed it.

My fear is those early season desires to get Hughes out there will sneak up on Spags with LJ gone and Fenton coming back.
