Call the cops, there's been a mass murder.... :)
|
Switched back to PIT/NYR. 2nd OT baby....

Crazy 3OT finish for PIT.
Playoff hockey is just the best... |
Quite the game in MSG... SOG 83-66, 3rd string goalie who's started two games all year comes in and plays in the 2nd and 3rd OT.
|

I cannot imagine how tired you'd be after 3OT. That's nuts. And it's just game 1! |
Completely expected TB to bounce back in a big way, and of course not a big surprise the Leafs didn't have it tonight.
Didn't expect the Bruins just to roll over and die in game 2. Was 50/50 on the Wild bouncing back, but really didn't expect the Blues to just roll over and die. Ah, the inconsistencies of sports. |

Good energy so far tonight.
|
Six minutes in and we're only up by 1. Avs are slipping.
|
MacKinnon is sofa king fast. Sometimes it looks like he has another gear available, and there's very few that can keep up with him.
He reminds me a lot of Peter Forsberg.. |
Nashville's PP has been seriously bad (outside of junk time) and the Avalanche PK has seriously out-hustled them.
|
Really didn't see much on the high sticking call and they still almost got a 3 on 5 SHG.
|
Yeah, like you said, PP hasn't meant much for NSH..
|
Someone asked me the other night how Landeskog looked in game one... and well, didn't really notice him a ton.
And hadn't really noticed him until he missed a wide open net tonight... In hindsight, maybe should have come back for the last couple games to get his legs. |
Dude is making some saves.

Seriously... Avs are hammering the goal, but nothing... That powerplay was nuts..
|

And goddamnit, it's almost 9:30! ;) |
Shots are 34-8 since the first period. Ridiculous.
|
Nashville winning a game on the road vs Colorado with their 3rd string goalie would be absurd.

Avs win!!!! Only took 845 shots!

Preds (finally) had some good chances in OT.
That's a great win... as Gretzky said, just have to keep doing what you're doing in a game like that. |
Man. What a game by Ingram.
|
What a game. Really good to take 2 strong wins right out of the gate.
Go Avs! |
Nice birthday win for Kuemper!
|
Damn Wild coming out hot and lucky as shit.
|
Welp
|
I haven't been watching. Any specific story for what the Wild are doing differently?

2nd game in a row they've played 5 D. Forwards were horrible. |
Ohh shit Kuemper. That looked bad.

Snake-bitten in the playoffs
Hopefully it's only temporary and he's ready to go for game 4. |
Denver Post is reporting an eye injury with no further detail.

That was a short, but beautiful power play
|
Definitely a different level of penalties this postseason so far, bordering on incidental stuff being called. It's closer to regular season, which is nice.
|
Seems like the Preds have adjusted their PP to create more space... they stayed way way outside that time, forcing the Avs to not be so aggressive.

Lets Go Blues!!!!!!!!
|
Preds giving it all they got tonight with some good energy and outplaying the Avalanche some.... and it still doesn't matter up to this point.
|
Makar, man. The way he fought through that contact and made a perfect pass. Guy is having an incredible season...
|
Avalanche may need another goal though with how often the Preds are just skating up to the crease...

Round 2, bitches. Let's GOOOOOOOO!
|
Props to Francouz. But, Kuemper, please come back!
|
Break out the brooms. Onto the next one.

Congrats Avs and thank you for not making this a gentlemen's sweep and just putting the Preds out of their misery.
|
Makar has really taken his game to another level. Just a pleasure to watch a guy like that play.
Like Mackinnon said in the post-game interview, Makar might be the best player in the league right now. And he's only 23  |
Great game in Toronto.
Tons of penalties this postseason... Avalanche/Preds were pretty average, but most series are far over normal regular season stats. It's maybe made for some less competitive games, but still preferred over the opposite extreme. |

Too bad we didn't get Preds/Flames, that could have been a good series. |
Let’s go blues

Games have been really good the past couple nights... glad the Rangers extended their series. I was just thinking about how the Panthers remind me of the Avalanche of a few years ago.... a team to be excited about in the regular season, because they can come back from any deficit in no time at all. Yet, they don't really play playoff hockey and it bites them in the ass. I was thinking that at 3-0, before they scored 4 straight goals. LMAO |

Is that the chick who's doing the Flames/Stars right now?
She's....got some room for improvement. |
Quote:
I don't think she's 'lock grandma in a cage' bad though.... she follows the play well and is accurate (granted, I usually don't pay much attention). She sounds more like a radio play-by-play person and should probably not say so much all the time. I was chatting with someone who says her biggest problem is not having 'a voice', and she is kind of robotic with it (until a goal is scored). |
Yep, sounds like she's doing radio. And getting paid by the word.
|
I'm way behind on the Flames/Stars, but she did seem to do a lot better on the first goal vs watching her previously.... just a "it's IN!!" and then shut up for a few seconds and didn't continue screaming.
|

Bring it on, Blues. :)
|
I was a bit surprised the Canes didn't close it out... both teams have given up 5 goals in every road game, but thought they would maybe take that next step.
Zero people are surprised TB/Leafs is going 7. Blues and Oilers are tough to predict with goalie play. And poor Wild. :( |
Blues vs Avalanche looking very, very likely
|
Ugh... Avs have our number but the Blues look like they're playing their best hockey.
