Glad this happened now rather than in the playoffs.

I think he’s up to 17 penalties now… for 110 total yards lost.

That’s almost like giving up 17 sacks. In terms of lost yardage.

Mahomes can at least escape most sacks… he can’t escape a RT who shits all over himself with penalties.

Hey, at least we're paying him $80 million over 4 years and our cap situation looks good, so there's always a silver lining.

I'm sure the owners will ensure changes are made after their winter meetings in Dallas.

This has probably been discussed elsewhere today but I've been super busy and haven't had time to look. What was the crow chanting after the offisides call? I couldn't make it out.

Flags against him is not a fair metric to use. The flags are bullshit, every other tackle would have just as many or more if officiating was “balanced”, he’s under a microscope where other tackles are ignored.

If you don't have the talent to block defenders, you commit penalties like holding, false starts, etc. Taylor is jumpy at the LOS because he's worried that the guy across from him is going to beat him. On the other side, you have Donovan Smith who is the holding king. WTH Veach was thinking when he brought those two aboard I have no idea...

So you would have brought back OBJ and Wylie and paid them collectively about 6 mil more a year?

We all know that they can call flags on any given play. The reason they picked this timing says it all. Folks are tired of a midwestern team winning every year.

And all those damn commercials! Even Chiefs fans are tired of seeing them...

Maybe being the bad guys will help. The Chiefs are never the bad guys, which is why I think the league comes down especially hard on them for infractions. The tampering, the Hunt and Hill stories running wild without any real evidence and then drying up when the players went elsewhere.

We're the good guys in the white hats; we don't have to cheat to win. So when we get cheated, and I believe the Chiefs have the right to believe it, sometimes the good guys have to act like bad guys to get noticed.

Like the nice kid that gets bullied and taken advantage of; one day, he turns and smacks the bully in the face.

I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore! Or something like that...

The league intentionally made sure to call that penalty against the Chargers tonight to make the Chiefs call look like it's not such an anomaly. There's no way that the league didn't tell the refs to call it tonight.

kccrow 12-14-2023 11:05 PM

If Toney is offsides (have yet to see where the ball was spotted before Creed grabbed it), the DE (I assume that was Von) is lined up in the neutral zone.

The NFL's reeruned riggers are reeruned. That's why the winter meetings might be funny to be a fly on the wall. Some common sense dude is going to make himself pretty unpopular by telling the idiots that they aren't fooling anybody anymore, and they might want to look for cities around the world for teams to play in, cities they might fall for their officiating anomaly bullshit.

I'd like a hi tech solution to this issue. Whether it be sensors with some line across the field or whatever. But the NFL needs to enforce the rules of the game.

But several of these photos -- not sure of this one -- has the player truly checking whether they are okay with the officials before the play. Supposedly, Toney didn't do that so he ran the risk of it being called.

I don't think we'll see it until the NFL figures another way to steer games towards outcomes that keep the money rolling in.

Gotta keep the division races going until end of the season.

jettio 12-15-2023 08:35 AM

I wish I had a dollar for every time a WR has been standing on the broadcast imposed line of scrimmage in the last five years.

This back and forth is like a debate by folks that have not watched football since the 1990's.

If you have been watching NFL football in recent years it is clear that on ball WRs have been lining up on the broadcast LOS so much that even fans that hunt for penalties have not complained.

The plain as day fact is that nobody watching the play live saw something that they expected to be flagged.

There is a good chance that this bullshit about where WRs line up is going to generate a lot of social media reaction during games the rest of this season and into the playoffs so that the broadcast will have to say something about it.

It may be fun seeing Tony Romo have marbles in his mouth trying to justify a flag not being thrown after he went apeshit badmouthing KT19.

I agree. But let's not forget the "pivot" they'll take. "Well it wasn't egregious enough" (these idiots subscribe to the "a little pregnant" theory), "they can't call everything or they game would last 20 hours with no scores", "they were letting them play", "there's an xyz on every play", the usual bullshit shade they provide for officials when they don't make a call.

NFL officials and people like Romo are:

I think it’s becoming very apparent as this has materialized that Toney is an idiot… line up right and check in… but the refs calling this shit at that kind of moment is like punishing jaywalking on an empty street.

The clip they showed on Chiefs The Franchise shows Toney checking in.

GloryDayz 12-15-2023 01:28 PM

The only reason the NFL is making a big deal of this is because two high profile people in the NFL called-out HQ's game-steerers. HQ will both get their pound of flesh, **** the Chiefs more in the future, and won't ever talk about the vast majority of calls that pissoff the plaeyers, teams and fans because, well, they know they're wrong and don't have any intention of fixing their very profitable scheme.

If anybody disagrees, they need to start with explaining why Roger "Vegas" Goodell never said a word about the previous week's flagrant missed DPI?

Roger Goodell is a ****ing piece of shit, but he's the owner's piece of shit, so this game manipulation won't stop.
